3.5 stars at Cnet, although the consumers share a different opinion. Unsuitable for gaming (lag) and monopolizing the computer seem to be the two main concerns.

ever hear of just plugging your Laptop into your TV? Or just download what you want to see to your tablet and then connect your tablet to your tv.

The website says 10 meters is the absolute limit, and Cnet's review says it's more like 20 feet in an open room (Doors interrupt the signal) so your computer has to be close to the TV anyway.

It has an HDMI port as well.

Is this like a Roku box that has to be linked up to your computer to work?

So all those movies that SOPA/PIPA will prevent you from downloading in the future can now be viewed on your TV... Nice...

BTW, high speed (v1.4) HDMI cables are limited to 50ft, many would say 25ft. Going wireless can help overcome that... I would doubt this could handle 3D blu-rays though....

And 20ft just ain't gonna cut it...

Max input resolution is 1920x1024?... that isn't quite 1080p... output resolution means nothing if input can't do it.... fail.

It doesn't transmit copy protected movies, somehow. So it can't handle ANY blu-rays.

will this work if I have a computer with no monitor and I want to setup a home media server basically using my tv as the monitor wirelessly?

You would need a monitor in order to download the appropriate software before using the device, but once that's set up, there's nothing stopping you from using the Veebeam like that.

My television and computer do not speak the same language.

Not true. This has a very limited range. Has to be in same room and some reviews say only 10 feet.

Not all Blu-rays are copy protected/encrypted. But even for those that are, AnydvdHD lets you get around that problem.
