These are crap. They go all loose and floppy. The Joby GorillaPod is much better.

Does this work with Apple or run linux?

Hmm... I'm not sure that it's worth the $5 shipping.

I've got a big gray version of these, and I don't find myself using it very often. I was hoping I could easily curl it around a door knob or even the edge of the door itself, but if I could, I couldn't do it quickly.

Those tripods certainly are ugly.

I've had one of these for about 2 years. I love it! I can use it as a regular tripod or wrap it around a tree (which I have done before). I would definitely recommend this, especially for the price.

If you're gonna get one of these, go with the Gorillapod. It's much more reliable, and it won't break after using it 5 times.

Will they work with an Orson Wells Martian Death Ray?

The price reminds me of the days of the Woot/Yahoo sales.

Despite what everyone else is saying these tripods are great. I used them exclusively on the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition tribute calendar I made with my neighbor's cats. Buy 3.

Damn, missed the fishy dvds.

The only thing this is missing is the brown bag it belongs in!

the Amazon reviews aren't very promising. But at $8/3, at least you'll know what's in your Barrels of Crud before opening it.

Some one should make one of these for GPS units or smart phones, sure would be handy for my bike/lawnmower/stroller/hang glider/etc.

Don't get me wrong. I think they are great [fingers crossed]. Please buy three so that we can move on. At this price, who can't use a spare if (when) one breaks.


Besides, they are multipurpose and if you break one leg off, you can use them as a bipod on your rifle. I heard the military is ordering hundreds of these little guys.
