Pah! When I was a kid hammers and chisels hadn't been invented yet. We had to scratch the rocks- (a few atoms at a time) using our finger nails.

I've downloaded a few books from the Gutenberg Project and am reading them on my 7" and 10" screens with no trouble or fatigue at all. These are not pamphlets -- Babbit, The Great Gatsby, Only Yesterday, Since Yesterday.
We will have to agree to disagree. I can read for hours on my high-resolution e-ink Kindle DX, but not on my android tablet. My wife reads 2-3 books per week, and agrees. Some folks seem to be OK with backlit displays for reading, in my experience, most are not.
I bought a Entourage Edge when I was trying to decide about this topic. (It has both backlit, and e-ink displays) I found e-ink to be far easier on *MY* eyes. I have both a Kindle, and this tablet. I use one for reading, and the other for everything else.

Funny. How does one violate a law that has yet to be passed?
Lambaste it all you want, don't be a tool and spread misinformation.
Why, yes, my sarcasm/facetiousness detector is in the shop getting repaired right now. Did I miss something?

I'm not sure why you trolls love so much trolling about ebook readers.
But it's easy to have an idea: lot's of people didnt ever read A BOOK with an e-ink screen (lots of people didnt ever read a book, apart from school ones), so you have an easy game for your trolling.
With e-ink reader (especially the vizplex pearl ones) you can read comfortably FOR HOURS with just ONE HAND in EVERY LIGHT condition, at home or outside, and just FORGET the device you're holding in your hands while you're reading. Like when you read a real book.
You bet this won't happen with a backlighted tablet, which is only useful if you're reading (not for long) in a dark room and you know how to set its screen.
