It's battery operated, but it gives you the option of using dc power if you wish.

Careful...the specs say this is an IM3C. I Googled it and this is a 5-year-old model, pre-iPhone. Read the Woot specs for supported iPods. Yes, iPods.

The one you see that's $100 is probably a much more up to date model.
