If anyone has an extra set, let me know. I missed out. Please PM me and I'll pay the postage too. Thanks!

I might have liked to get in on this. Strictly for traveling in packs on the freeway and stuff like that, although as one previous poster mentioned, cell phones have pretty much made that obsolete. Therefore, I can't tell whether or not I'm glad this was sold out by the time I got around to checking Woot this morning. I probably didn't need it, but I think I would have been tempted to buy it anyway. So, it's probably a good thing that I missed out on it.

Heckfire! I saw these at 6AM MST and said "I don't need these". At 9:30 I thought of a really GOOD use, but they were SOLD OUT! I hate it!

well I just have to comment on this woot...
some time back walmart was selling these things and they had them really cheap.
so I bought two of them thinking great these will work great for the kids.... but oh no... they are always so very unclear that they ended up in the bottom of the junk drawer..
I truely hope for the sake of all you wooters that xact has improved on the quality since I purchased mine...

Good luck ;)

When I'm skiing with my family, we always use Motorola Talkabouts. But they are crammed in pockets and unable to be heard most of the day. A cheap 2 way with decent power to hang around my neck at Gore? I'll pay $20 all day.

Ownage.

You know what's funny. People who can't even be original.

Sometimes, I just point and laugh at them. Like now.

EBay Link here

This guy bought the item, then cut and pasted from woot's main page, and relisted the item on ebay. That's sad. Funny... but sad.

I have read a number of comments describing these as "great christmas gifts". These must be the same people that think socks, ties, and the like are great gifts. Some of these folks must be my family members. Guess I don't need to buy them. I'll probably get a set stuffed inside my new pair of socks for Christmas. Joy to the world.

2 miles for 14 bux? Uh no. And as for paintball. . . they don't look too sturdy (with all the attempted post modern matrixesque looking molding). Seems like a charging hamster could shatter them. Plus radios vs. cell phones:

Radios: other teams can listen
Cell phones: secure
Radios: limited range
Cell phones: across the planet
Radios: reminds me of two five year olds on bicycles with playing cards pounding the spokes
cell phones: very cool and light with a jabra bluetooth headset.

bottom line: 14 bux is a waste of money for something that sux the big ol' corn chunks in the fecal matter of wireless tech.

Hey Woot, did you know you were highlighted on Fox News Chicago in the Morning today as part of their "Cool Web Sites" spotlight.

They showed some screen shots of previous Woots and mentioned what todays Woot was.

You are now listed on their website of "Cool" websites:

http://www.foxchicago.com/_ezpost/data/36324.shtml/

It would be interesting to see if this spiked any purchases in the Chicagoland area...

We are in a no-cell-phone tower area, so we never had cell phones. We travel up the highway about 70 miles, once or twice a month, in two cars. Be nice to use these - especially if I need a pit stop, cause he never thinks of stopping.
And we have a 10-acre place; I can't wait to try these out.
"Watson, come here. I need you."

Thanks for the advice, I'm in for a set.

YES! I have 144 acres and a 9 year old who could get hurt. cell phones are rather expensive to send with a kid out to play. I won't feel too bad if he loses a $7.50 radio.

You know, eBay has rules against that, it's called plagerism and if someone were to report him, eBay would end the auction. I would do it but I'm new around here and not ready to start trouble. I think WOOT should be notified as well. They work hard to bring us amusing ads and it sucks that someone would claim that as their own. Just my opinion.

You're actually getting coal.

Sorry to dissapoint you.

Then again, maybe that would be something you could use. You could put it in that big empty spot where your heart should be.

Woot (which handles the marketing/sales) is located in TX; the product is located in CA.

I got that too. I assume that it is an artifact of the fedex system, just indictaing that info was sent from Irving. If the package had actually been at Irving, there would have been arrival and departed lines.
