So as things are winding down, I thought I'd do a wrap up.
First this has been a very good BOC in terms of different items for people. I remember one where there was a model airplane and two bottles of car wax, where the only surprise was if one of the bottles had its seal broken by rough treatment. While some people have reported duplicates, it is down significantly from the bad old times.
For those who got really "crappy crap", don't see this as a bad thing. Find one item and add it (or start) your shrine to Woot.
For those of us who got something really good, we can now justify to our coworkers, friends, significant others, our addiction. I've had many people ask "why would you just waste $8 on a grab bag?" To be able to point to your slightly used PS3 or (in my case) iPod touch, only serves to drive the point home.
Also, a number of people were shorted in this round. New monkeys, as part of Woot's hazing, have to fill the boxes. In fact, I tracked down the monkey in question, he's in the middle pictured below:
His reply was, "Uh... it's my first day."
And with the exception of the famed letter, in fact Woot doesn't know what you should get. One monkey packs and seals the box, and it goes into a dark room. Another monkey pulls out a box at random and slaps a label on it.
So if you got shorted, contact service@woot.com and explain the situation calmly. They don't know what you got, it isn't the customer service rep's fault the new guy messed up, so give them a break. Tell them what you got and explain what you expected. Be very nice to the customer service rep, as they decide if you get a duffel bag full of loot or a used Kleenex as your replacement crap.
