Great idea, if I had a friend who preferred the milk chocolate over the dark. The fact that I don't either refers negatively to my lack of friends or positively to my choice of friends with good taste.

Hmm, sounds like you do need more friends! Friends with varied tastes.

If you really need a friend that bad, I might have some room. I also like milk chocolate (and dark, I'm "well-rounded" like that).

The hubby and I bought 6 boxes between our two accounts at Christmas. We gave away 5 and saved one for ourselves. He likes Dark and I like the Milk Chocolate, so it worked out for us. We rationed them to only on chocolate a day and I just ate the last one last week. These were worth every penny. I loved them! I am not a Dark Chocolate fan, and these just might make me come over to the Dark Side.

As a couple other people mentioned, flip them upside down and eat it salt side down. It makes them even better!

Hmm, no, it says serving size is 2 pieces, and a serving is 120 calories, so each piece is 60 calories.

Re the Dark Chocolate only issue. My wife is a Dark Chocolate fiend, but with SALTED chocolate, she actually likes Milk better. Something about the salt makes it seem not quite so sweet.

I have to agree with many others... I really wish it was a choice of just dark chocolate or just milk chocolate. The dark chocolate ones look DELICIOUS!

fait wrote:In my opinion, wine.woot is w-a-y overpriced, too because, as we all know, wine is really only fermented grape juice, and that's super easy to make at home.

You know, those snobby wine people go on-and-on about "varieties of grapes" and how stupid things like "soil" and "barrel wood" and "weather conditions" supposedly impact the taste of the final product. Hogwash! We all know that in the end, it's just grape juice that was tweaked a little.

All you need is some grape juice (the local food warehouse has big bottles of it real cheap) and some yeast. You can buy that at the grocery store. Throw some yeast into the grape juice, throw the cap back on, and let it sit for awhile at room temp. Strain out the junk, and -voila- you have wine that is every bit as good as they sell at the 7-11 - only cheaper because you're so much smarter than those high-faultin' "professionals".

No need to buy that expensive stuff on wine.woot. You have exactly the same thing.

May I high five you for your awesomeness? (While eagerly awaiting my caramels of course.)

I'm all for learning to do things myself, but I know my limits, and making high quality chocolate is definitely outside my reach. I might TRY to make caramels someday, but the whole 'extremely hot sugar' thing makes me very, very nervous.

Watch it! In some cases it is the husband who will be getting a little bit fatter on valentines day. I don't see anything gender-specific about this offering.

Edit: I sure wish I would have ordered two, so that I could be fattened up as well.

I recommend you use these chocolates to apologize to your wife/girlfriend for making her insecure about whether your love is contingent upon the size of her thighs.

These are better than awesome. 1 order is NOT enough. These are pieces of divinity.

These are special little treats you give yourself-- a single piece once - or twice a day after you've completed some particularly onerous task that you have been postponing.

I ordered 2 boxes-- 1 for the 'battle ax' and one for mom. Someone is bound to be disappointed because the odds of both boxes making V-Day intact are slim-to-none.

$12.50/delivered/Lb @ 2 orders is a good price for this quality of confections.

Do not share these with children. They will eat them all.

So they are holding out on the ones with all the other nutty goodies in them?

These ROCK! Even non-chocolate likers like 'em, must be the dash of salt. Got two during a past WW woot-off in December and need to replenish.

You are all enablers! Enablers, I tell you.

I was all set to pass this one up until I read all 6 pages of comments. I love the sweet/salt combo. I love caramels (though my TMJ-jaw doesn't approve of them). I love chocolate. What's not to love here?

I have nobody to buy me candy for Valentine's Day, so I bought these for myself. I deserve it.

Question: How long is the shelf life?

I usually read the comments but there are 6 pages. My sister-in-law's birthday is the 17th of March. She's been on the fence all day about this Woot and she's a cheapsake.. Got her one. Now, should I freeze it, stick it on a shelf or eat it because it won't be good in March?

It'll be fine in a cool place for a couple months. Don't freeze, just in case. My last batch was opened 2 weeks before christmas and finished about a week ago, and they were just fine from beginning to end. If a month open doesnt hurt, then 2 months closed wont either. Someone did mention that they should keep 6 months at room temp, but I would stress cool but not cold place, depending on your part of the country and whether you have heat or AC on during the day... I find that in the south, with minimal AC or heat, a spot in my tiled and therefore cool breakfast nook is perfect.

Your real issue will be in not eating them in the meantime.

Also, you're a lovely in-law to be getting these for her. If I didnt already have the worlds best in-laws then I would want you to be mine.
And I don't mean that to be creepy... Valentines day approaching must be getting to me...
