Flashlights and remotes. Long night ahead.
what kind of devil science is this? voice controlled remotes? does it work well?
If woot keeps putting up remotes at the current pace, this woot-off is going to have...a lot of remotes.
This sounds cool, but I'm afraid my wife asking "Can you turn it down?", "Isn't there anything else on?", etc, would get picked up and.....
Astounding, they've actually managed to recreate everything that was wrong with remote control technology in 1997.
yeah, I'm the 1st sucker and I used my $5 off coup. Wanted one of these since last woot-off cuz I'm lazy. Doesn't work-got a lazier brother!
deer gawd dey have thousands of deez.
At least that cell phone extender sold.
this is kinda cool. you can be like a very ver very incredibly low budget version of tony stark.
I'm in for one myself. For when I get tired of calling Dial A Prayer.

hahahahahahaha!!!
Jeezus man how about something good? Maybe a tablet?? Or anything not Dot's Poetry Corner?
Will this start my car?
Once again, the cat has stolen the dog's bed.
It's a decent remote with nice features, i.e. backlighting but the database seems lacking. For example, I can't find anything for either of my Pioneer DVD recorders. On hte plus side, it's a learning remote so you can train it to mimic any other remote. One major issue is that the remote seems overly-directional. I literally have to point the remote directly at my TV's IR sensor to get it to work. I thought that it was my TV's fault but others have said the same thing.

you have to say "remote control" and wait for a beep before giving a command, so there's no chance of that. it would kinda be cooler if the remote were smart enough to recognize casual commands, though.

If you hard wire the ignition wires to the remote wires, possibly.

YEEEEEEEEEEES!
I would love one of these but my husband has an accent and already gets into arguments with my grocery lister all the time as it can never understand his voice.

Good kitty.
JARVIS! Raise the volume, Victor's about to crush Nikki's hopes and dreams again!
Dang it, Woot! You got me with the blue backlighting! In for one.
Siri?
Yellow...bar...not...moving...fast...enough. ARRRRRRRRRGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!

because that's what everyone needs, their phone's virtual intelligence operating their remote.

How any are there Oh My Gookie!
This is best used by the elderly or others with limited mobility, i.e. the handicapped, post-stroke patients, etc. You can add in a power jack so that the Listen function can stay on indefinitely and not drain the batteries. The remote can then be mounted on a wheelchair or lounger, etc. The Sound function is also good for those need audio feedback, i.e the visually impaired (yes, they enjoy TV too), those with extreme farsightedness, etc. For ordinary folks, the voice-control is not as useful. For one thing, the room needs to be quiet. Secondly, there is lag. Most people won't put up with the fact that saying Fast Forward, REW, Pause aren't instantaneous so you constantly miss the point where you're trying to find.
Wow! America, you've reached a whole new level of lazy!

It's not sexy blue ... it's boring radioactive green.

Yes! And to celebrate, the video demonstrating this remote has been removed.
*Warning: Does not respond to "I'M-A-FIRIN' MAH LAZER".

SeXXXy robot-radioactive-green would rock hard!
It;s amazing how cheap technology has gotten. My first voice-controlled remote from about 20 years ago was >$100.

Speaking of "rock hard," I instinctively avoid putting anything that glows green near my nether region because it reminds me of radioactivity and I'd like to have childrne one day...
make it go away please
If only CowboyDann loved remotes as much as he loved flashlights...
I bought one for my neighbor because her elderly mom only speaks Chinese. Apparently, you can program it to recognize any words you want. For example, you can train it to recognize the word "DOG" to pause. So this might be a nice gift for people who don't speak English, and don't have the skills to operate an ordinary remote, i.e. elderly immigrants.
