Not a bad deal Adorama has the same camera and lense although a refurb for the same price.

Edit: They have it new for 449. So it sounds like a good deal to me

While I don't shop at Walmart. Just because they offer it there doesn't make it bad. This is a perfectly good camera for a beginner getting into photography.

Damn it. I'm in the market for a new DSLR, don't need video and this would be fine. BUT ALL MY LENSES BE NIKKOR!

Walmart also sells, xboxs, playstation, Sony TVs, etc.... Apparently, by this logic, all those are garbage.

I was actually about to buy a buddy's used DSLR, but I'd prefer one that did video

Nice DSLR... for a Canon.

REcieved this as a gift 2 years ago when they still cost $600+. Great camera, great quality photos, and I would recommend it, especially at this price. I prefer my video on a separate device so this works for me.

This would be a nice camera for someone looking for an entry level D-SLR. If the T2i was selling at the same price yesterday as mentioned above, that was definitely a better deal.

They only sell it at Walmart now because newer versions with video are available. Plus. this camera has been on the market for years. Still high quality!

This is a good camera for the money. It IS an OLD model. It was my first DSLR. While I have moved on to bigger and better things, I still LOVE this camera and keep it around because it's easy to use and takes great pictures. If you're a photo Skippy Squirrel like I was several years ago when I took the plunge and joined the DSLR club, this camera will treat you nicely and you'll have a lot of fun with it right away.

This is not "high end". This is entry-level and the "lowest" D-SLR that Canon currently makes. (and they might not even be actively making it any more)

I have this camera myself and use it all the time. It takes beautiful pictures it's easy to use. This is alot of money for me but it was a purchase I've never regretted

Scenario : You're about ready to head to work, you don't want to miss any items, but driving while Woot!ing is extremely unsafe, even with the Track Woot! app on your phone (Free in the App Store yesterday).

Then, like a light from heaven, descends a $400 camera that will take, potentially, 3 hours to sell out.

God bless you less-than-adequate deals that give working folk a chance to see everything without risking our lives.

The Sony TVs at Walmart (and Target) ARE cheaper/lower quality than elsewhere. Xbox's and PlayStations are the same though...

I've seen Nikon DSLRs at Walmart before... Granted I got mine from a specialty camera store. Sorry Cannon, but I'll stick with Nikon.
