If you need a digital camera, this one is excellent. I bought a similar one at Costco for a lot more, and it takes excellent pictures and video. No, I'm not being paid for this endorsement :-P

optical is a real zoom with a lens.

intelligence is just the computer in it zooming in on a picture it took in regular mode. Its a fake zoom that loses clarity

Optical zoom is what the physical lenses of the device can provide. Digital zoom is just cropping and enlarging what the sensor picks up, necessarily destroying quality in the process. Intelligence zoom is likely a blend of the two.

Basically anything other than optical zoom is worthless, cause after the optical, its the same as zooming in on a picture after it's on yur computer, aka losing resolution
