Got three last woot-off, and don't regret it.
Go for three to get shipping's worth.
Note the weight limit (1 lb) though, they won't hold big, heavy cameras.

Notable Woots:
1 Samsung Modus Bluetooth Headset Kit, 2 MuzxDNA Earphones (one lost, one destroyed) superceded by 2 MEElectronics M16 Earphones, 2 Phantom S107's, 1 Art101 124-piece art set, iGo rechargable battery set, way more Fuji batteries than I immediately know what to do with, 1 Dell Streak 7" Tablet
1 Big Old Chevy dated 3/22/2011, #4 of the night (!).
1 Bundle of Caravans dated 4/25/2011

I picked up three of these last time. Believe me when I say they are not worth $.99

They barely flex, and they barely grip.

They also may be fine for point and shoots if you mess with them long enough, but diffidently not an SLR.

These things are junk. Bought 3 in the last Woot-Off and 2 are in the trash already. The only reason the third isn't is because it's still in the package. Cheap plastic mounting head is the reason. Don't even try to tighten the head tight. If you do - CRACK! and it's junk. Avoid.

I bought one of these a while back, and I LOVE it. Works really well when I'm out with my kids and only have something like a tree branch to balance my camera on. Wraps around almost anything. It even fits right in my purse!

I bought 3 of these during the last Woot! Off for my 9 year old son. They grip pretty well and at this price even if he breaks them after a while it is still a good deal.

6 out of 7 amazon reviewers had the head pop off with hardly any use. The 7th still gave 1 star. sounds like a buyer be ware situation.

These don't look like they'd grip even my scrawny son, never mind hold him. I wouldn't get one.... sure, if you have some camera or something you want to put in a death grip, or maybe you want to have a piece of plastic do the Vulcan death grip on an egg with the shell precracked, they'd be fine. But for serious garroting, not so much, thanks

Gah how many of these do they have?

I bought a few of these a while back, and I totally agree with the other negative reviews. The build quality is very cheap. They are sturdy enough for a compact camera but I would not put a heavy or expensive camera on this.

If you want something similar with a better build quality, you should consider the Joby Gorillapod: http://joby.com/gorillapod

Reading comments about this doo-dad.

I am heartily convinced. I do not believe that I'll be getting one.

If it came to me in a BundleOfCommodities, I'd give it to Goodwill.

But, I certainly hope other people are buying, buying, buying.

My goodness the order server is crunching on this worse that the Bunnies Ogling Carrots I hope my order doesn't accidentally go through twice, since I refreshed like an impatient dummy.

Did Dr. Seuss make these?

These work really well, just not for a heavy large SLR. My video cam is supported just fine.

One word of warning: If you overtighten the bolt to the camera with the full tripod assembled, you can crack the interior plastic, making the whole thing a bit less stable. So take the post out of the tripod, mount it to your camera, then re-insert into the tripod.

Based on the reviews of others I'm glad I sat this one out. Looks like they've finally sold out too.

They are cheap and difficult to level, but they are easy to stuff in a midsize camera bag.

If you have an issue with that please mail service@woot.com to clear things up. (And don't forget your order number!)

I'm just hanging out, really.

Thanks! Wasn't sure how much sympathy was had for accidental orders. So far so good though, according to my account screen.

I tried to place an order too. Page spung for ever then got denied. No more left.

Got three last time. Two heads broke but fixed them. You can take the quick release part off and use it without the ball head. These are too week for my SLR's but perfect for my strobes.

I know I'm coming in late but maybe this will be seen the next time they come up for sale.

I don't mind the cheap construction too much but there is one thing that makes them worthless IMHO. The quick-release plate can't be tightened to the tripod so the camera can move a little on the tripod. The one thing you buy a tripod for is to hold the camera steady and these won't do it.
