Patience.

I'm sure Woot will come in here at some point.

You need money in your Paypal account to purchase via Woot. That is pretty asinine. Paypal by itself does instant withdrawals from your linked bank account, but Woot for some reason has to be different from everything else, and now I miss out on my first bag.

*sigh*

That's because the bank transfers can fail. You can place an order today linked to an empty or closed bank account, and only 4-10 days later will the transfer fail. Woot doesn't want to have to hang on to orders that might not actually be paid for, and then have to do something with inventory that was "sold" but no longer actually has a buyer. And no, they don't want to *plan* to put tons of $200+ stuff into $1 Bunnies Ogling Carrots.

Has anyone who got a "your order is NOT in" message since gotten an order confirmation?

I got an order confirmation (and my cc shows it too) after probably 14-15 earlier denials.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

I was getting ready to guess that when they entered the number available, someone entered an extra 0, making the usual ~1500 into 15000. I imagine that Woot will chime in at some point with an explanation but right now there probably aren't too many people in the office and they're probably working to get the mistake rectified.

Aha! I knew something was up. Plus, the first Carp was around 300, the second around 800, and this one at 1400 makes 2500, which is the 'normal' Bunnies Ogling Carrots amount for a given round of Wootoff.

BTW, this was Carp #10 for me. April 1st here we come!

I've purchased several Bunnies Ogling Carrots#39;s with an unfunded paypal account. It took it from my bank account without problem.

This was purposeful. 10% of the orders they took got approved, just as the item description eluded to.

Not sure which (of many attempts) went through, I was just stunned to see the confirmation email about four minutes after the item changed to something else.

This happened to me a few years ago, and Woot cancelled about half of the 4,000 orders that had gone through. They said there was an error, and they had sold too many. I got the notice late that night that my order was cancelled, after pending charges and a confirmation email. I mentioned this a few months ago, and some new folks didn't believe me. Whoops..

Nah, I'm guessing the totals just include orders that are denied after the product is sold out. Happens all the time... usually it's just a couple of a product, but because of weird server issues tonight it ended up being ~10,000.

I'm guessing/hoping most of those people didn't get confirmation e-mails, or Woot will have some apologizing to do.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I got to the order denied page well over 20 times for this third Baggie on this woot off (this one actually had about 500, because they keep adding to the total)

I was upset.

I had a temper tantrum.

And then I ate dinner.

I received and email saying I GOT THE BAG OF C-R-A-P

Yet I never got a page that said I did! YIPPEEE sorry guys who didn't but check your emails!!

Not sure where you are getting that idea from. I never have funds in PayPal and I bought a BoC today using an empty PayPal account that's funded by a debit card / bank account. I have purchased many items from woot this way.

Someone made a good point in reference to new commandment #2: II. Thou shalt probably expect not to even get a Bag o’ Crap at all. We only have enough for about 10% of the people who want them. Thou art probably in that other 90%.

And that's black and white at first, but after seeing this fiasco of an ordering process... Was it intended? If so, it's more mean than fun....

If you look at each of the three 'entries' today for the Bunnies Ogling Carrots it's all the same.....the stats for one are the stats for the others. I wonder if it won't come up one more time before this woot-off is over...assuming the usual number of bags sold to ultimately be 2500. Another time when it was offered many times throughout a day (a previous April Fool's maybe?), each time it was offered the stats updated/continued from the one before.

That's not what he said.

Woot doesn't accept PayPal eCheck payments. These are transfers from a linked bank account. They don't accept them because the transfer can fail, leaving you with no payment for that order days later.

Woot does accept PayPal payments funded by any other method, including a linked credit/check card. Nobody said otherwise.

Seconded!

And, can I just say? I kind of hate when people complain about shirts that don't fit or random shirts they don't like. There's all kinds of great stuff you can do with them. And if you're not handy with scissors and thread (pillow, bag, shirt for your dog, etc), you can donate them or gift them to relatives or friends (or their kids). Really. There's no such thing as a useless shirt.

Evening all. I'm just starting up for the night but I checked into this. Seems that the server got stuck on the Bunnies Ogling Carrots and wouldn't turn over to the new product. Developers were called in to fix the problem. I blame the same jerk server that's caused problems the last 2 nights.

So the 13000 sales number was not real. Just the ramblings of one jerk server.

I use PayPal with a linked bank account on my other woot account. PayPal only has my debit card number as a back-up funding source but not as the primary one. I don't know if that matters, but I thought I'd toss it in there. I used that PayPal account funded by bank transfer successfully on woot this morning.

I'm guessing the conversation at headquarters.woot went something like this:

"Wow, the comments on the last woot-off are really nasty since we didn't sell a Bunnies Ogling Carrots"

"You read that stuff? Are you new here? Everyone complains about a Bunnies Ogling Carrots whether they get one or not."

"Yeah, I read the forums. I'm not jaded yet."

"Well what do you want to do about it?"

"I know! Let's offer the elusive Bunnies Ogling Carrots so many times that people think the servers are broken."

"Oooh! Then we can leave it up for a really long time to get as many orders that we can, then we'll dust off the old random-number-generator-inator and we can play Bunnies Ogling Carrots Roulette!"

"Wow. I'm shocked. I think this is a win-win here. Let's eat some of that bacon spread. Yum."

woot wage at $427? with orders at 1395 woots. i smell bacon. im no math magician but i'm pretty sure that 1395 x 3 equals $4185 which would hopefully be a gross profit which means that at fair market value the net would be $427. that means the average value per woot would be around 269 cents. that's some crap right there the shipping will surely out way the value of the Burnt orange cuda. so for those of you missing out you can rest assured that your better off because the credit card interest on this after one year at 24% apr (thanks for nothing Chase) will be 193 cents, slightly lower then the value of this Bunnies Ogling Carrots
