This is actually a charger and a base and a speaker.

It works GREAT and costs less than just a charger from Apple.

Wouldn't count on it. Mine doesn't work with my thin case.

I bought one of these on 3/2 for the Sam price. Does well with both my iPhone and iPad but is not friendly on thick cases. Sound is good for that price.

Bought one of these the first week of March on Woot and it is worth EVERY PENNY. Bought another for my father in law. It doesn't have a crazy powerful speaker but it'll do what it's made to do.

Looks like a good accessory for your ipod. Lots of features. Buy one for each room.

Meanwhile, my desktop tower M@c Pro 1,1 will NOT charge my The new iPad.

Amazon does carry dock extenders that let you use devices in cases with docks like this.
