This was from a *movie*, not a TV series. Which case there would be a myriad of other choices.

As others have pointed out, the best TV robot is the "B9" robot from the TV show "Lost In Space."

It should also be noted that the "Buck Rogers" robot Twiki actually carried around the robot "Dr. Theopolis" hanging from his neck (and that appeared to be his primary purpose beyond comic relief).

For everyone that like the Cylons from Battlestar Galactica, the only function they had was a creepy red scanning eye and say "by your command."
