I use the front line and I think there is one for cats too.

I put it on Scratchy this year. It was suppose to be a banner year for ticks and fleas. Dr said if cats hang out in windows on the ground floor, with shrubs outside, they can get fleas.
His actually expired in april. Vet said it didn't matter. I figure I'll use it until oct.

Hey Lynn, Think the stuff is ok for an extra 6 months?

If you need extra ticks, I can send you a big box of them if you like!

the Advantage Multi? I can't really answer as I don't know what the moxidectin (which is the dewormer - forgot to mention it also is used for heartworm prevention) reacts past expiration date, altho it is probably ok. Maybe less effective, but that isn't why you are using it. The imidacloprid, the insecticide which kills fleas, does not have an expiration date.

Fortunately the predictions of a 'horrible tick year' up here have not come to fruition. I have taken 2 off of the boys so far. Not seeing tons of them at work either. Will be interesting to see what the larval/nymphal tick season brings - we see those on cats faces, esp eyelids - they look like teeny skin tags.

edit - and thanks fer the offer but you can keep yer ticks we don't want 'em!

Finally got my butt up now I need to do something. Gonna go tear some sheet rock off around a skylight that leaked, I guess.

Update: Sheet rock scraped. Spackle, texture, and paint purchased.

Gas prices are all over the place now. Usually most of the stations are within 3 or 4 cents of each other, but within a mile of us they run from 3.33 to 3.69.

The texture on my cieling is like an orange skin texture. I don't think the can stuff can replicate.

They have 2 kinds - orange peel and knock down. I got the knock down but you can also squish down the orange peel one. The cans have an adjustment on them to adjust the texture too. Pretty damn cool.

I have some but I've been hesitant to try it. The structual guys at work don't seem to like it. I may give it a go and I guess if it doesn't blend well I can always scrape it off.

I thought about trying that last year when I fixed the hole in the ceiling section I replaced, but we ended up doing a big enough stretch that I just did the mud + paint roller technique on the whole stretch.

2 dates in a week, I think I'm getting spoiled! We went to see Hunger Games at the art house theater tonight, and we were going to tag team when a friend offered to watch our kids (originally was going to watch them for our anniversary but got sick). So we got to go at the same time and other friends met us at the theater. Lots of fun! Next week is international sushi week and we just found out that the sitter who watched the kids last week still needs 2000 for her trip to China.... hmmm

This area is high enough up that I don't care if the texture doesn't match exactly. It'll look better than it was. Matching the paint is another matter. Luckily I was able to take a big sample.

Good night and good morning. Another day dawns here. Actually dawn is about 4:30 a.m. and our bedroom windows face the East and the sun comes right in. I am looking forward to the longest day coming soon, the sun won't set until about 10:30. I love the long summer evenings.

evening/morning

I'm kinda glad for the later sunshine, but I could do without the sun waking up the 2 year old at 5 am.

Well we have a 5 month old chocolate Lab puppy and a 3 year old yellow Lab and they seem to like to wake up at sunrise too. Fortunately after letting them out and giving them breakfast, they are happy yo go back to sleep for a while.

Ironically, that's not to dissimilar from what happened this morning. Ver3 (third child) woke up, got a change, Daddy gave him some breakfast and within 2 hours they were both back asleep for a couple hours. The worst part was that I was up until 4:00am with Ver2 who was having a rough time sleeping for some unknown reason.

Morning Az, Ice, Joyner. Just finished my walk. I've been really good at not doing it lately. Need to get back to it.

Cooling down, breakfast, then bed after a bit.

When it's around 100 during the day the ONLY time that's good to walk is when the sun is not up. It's not even 11 a.m. and it's 90 with 75% humidity.
Maybe she just needs a bigger gun , this is Texas after all.

Looks like she was done at 4:30am.
I know that people are walking here at sunrise...so 6? Not sure.

I know why. You want that done after work, so she can either sleep or do her chores.

Afternoon all. Hasn't been a good day so far and I'm betting it's going to get worse. Three shots of novacaine. Uh, that hurts. Two more shots of novacaine. Uh, that still hurts. Didn't count how many more. Okay, that's fine. But now, 800 mg. of ibuprofen every six hours for three or four days, pain pills if needed.

The dentist discovered I had a pocket (space between tooth and gum), sent me to the periodontist, who determined that was necessary. The stitches come out in 10 days.

They slice the gums down around several teeth and pull the flap of gums down in order to get to the tooth root and then do something (?) there, which I think included putting in what they politely called donor bone which can increase the growth of my jaw bone and gum. (I think it's cadaver bone.) Then, after sewing it up, they put what looks like silly putty on it to hold it in place.

I had that. When we pulled a tooth for the braces, it was hooked onto another tooth. Ended up having to remove some bone to get it out.
Then a few years later, I had that bone thing done.

Can't remember how much it hurt.

Still don't know if it took.
