In case you get a "green screen" with an HDMI cable, don't panic. It's not the cable. There is an easy fix. Just set the screen saver to "on after 30 minutes" and the saver itself to "old typewriter clock" and the green screen will go away forever. It worked for my Roku XD off of Woot!

How many models of these are there? This is the new roomba

Editors' note: As of July 2011, the Roku HD and Roku XD have been discontinued and replaced by the Roku 2 HD and Roku 2 XD, respectively.

The Roku XD ($69.99) and Roku HD ($79.99) are the step-down versions of the Roku XDS ($99.99).

The Roku XD is mostly identical to the XDS, except that it does not offer component video and optical audio output; it does not include the USB port (for future local media playback); and it offers single-band 802.11n Wi-Fi (not the better dual-band 11n found on the XDS). If you don't need any of those features, you can save $20 by going with the XD.

(Shoppers should note that the Netgear Roku Player NTV250 is just the Roku XD sold under a different brand.)

Got one, but it's the 2XD. Love it, but wish I'd have bought the 2XDS with the gaming remote. Still hoping Woot will one day sell a gaming remote all by itself at a decent price so I can play angry birds! But I'm not paying what they're asking on roku.com.

If I connect this to a Roomba, will it clean the house while I watch movies?

Well, this one has the features I want (1080p), but the one I ordered yesterday had the features I was willing to settle for. I feel like the south-facing end of a north-facing equine, but I'm buying this one too. I'll either gift the first one, or hook it up to my PC monitor in my room.

I got the upgraded version that had the remote that was wii-like motion control. Ended up returning the Roku and went WD. Roku has a better streaming from hulu and netflix, but couldnt read but 3 or 4 movie formats. I wanted a streaming media player I could DL movies and TV shows, plug into a setbox and watch them HD on my big TV. For file playing, WD beats Roku hands down. So it depends what you want to play, files or streams from movie sites. Just my .02
