Poll: When one of your favorite websites launches a redesign, you:
  • 9.7% - Dive in to explore the new look and features! 120
  • 50% - Shrug and figure out how to keep using it the way you want. 620
  • 26.2% - Maybe complain a little, but get used to it. 325
  • 6.5% - Freak out and dedicate your life to organizing a boycott. 81
  • 7.6% - Hardly notice. 94
1240 votes

Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

So, what are you saying, woot?

You are going back to the cool purple?

Some redesigns are so bad that you just quietly stop using it entirely -- desktop CNN, Slate, and Salon in my case, and I used to pay for Salon.

What new look and features, Woot? You can tell me - nobody's listening.

The old timers on woot are prolly still upset about the site redesign from several years ago. Or several years before that...

Grrr.... danged sidebar

The knee-jerk overreaction to redesigns drive me nuts. Life is change, man. Roll with it.

A check box needs to say "Immediately look for a back door to the old page."

I miss the purple, nothing else.

Well, another day has passed and I didn't use algebra once.

Don't do it Woot... We have a good thing going... Don't jeprodize our relationship...

if you liked it then you would have put a sale on it

Or, as a person who is in flight school and paying at least 170.00 an hour for flight instruction (and I'm up to approximately 350 hours [$59,500 plus each checkride costs approximately $700, plus all of my pilot supplies]), and putting myself through college with no assistance- I have to be judicious with my money...

So, forgive me for not purchasing something to date from Woot.

I've put a sale on it. In fact, I've put plenty. I still think the site's too wide, but at least there's no Timeline. Got to look on the bright side.

It takes months to find a customer, but only seconds to lose one.
The good news is that we should run out of them in no time.

We're just curious as to what "good thing" you think we have going.

I think we're nearing the point where we should start letting you sleep on our couches.

I like the format as is. I believe that this shade of green used for the Woot page is calming. Makes me want to participate in the daily Woots and the ever popular Woot-offs. I enjoy the ability to discuss the products as well. Lets not mention the daily polls that are just as fun as reading the ever clever product descriptions. I really enjoy the current layout/ site design.

BUT, who am I to stand in the way of your web design thinktanks that have undoubtedly been created? Either way the cookie crumbles, I will continue to come back to the website. Day after day after day after day. . .(after day)

Don't believe philistines who tell you "change is good."

Change sucks. Especially change that is not chosen, but rather "introduced" - which is corporate gobbledygook for "imposed."

OK ... forgiven.

But help me out here. You do buy stuff somewhere ... is it the case that you believe it's more judicious to buy elsewhere?

I'm not understanding you, since a lot of people buy stuff at Woot! rather than someplace else because they view it as VERY "judicious" - economical, that is - to buy here rather than elsewhere.

I have a suggestion Get rid of the sidebar crud on the main page because it is now overburdened by self-advertisements for the blog, videos, local, deal, etc. However, the addition of polls was awesome, so keep that around!

I spend money on gas, rent, insurance, cell phone bill, and groceries. The closest woot comes to any of those items is over at wine.woot... And they don't deliver to my state. No worries though, one day I will have money to pour into woot like a rich businessman who unloads tons of money to keep his illegitimate children quiet.
