Picked one up on Woot! way back in Sept. 2010. Still going strong.

Paid $139.99 back then... Why is it now $20 more for the same model we bought almost 2 years ago. Shouldn't the price on these models items go down??

Yours was purchased during a woot-off And it looks like it was a hot seller, Selling one unit every 6 seconds.

Sometimes during woot-offs they will need to clear a lot of space to in their warehouses to make room for new woots. They offer killer deals to liquidate their stock, so it just sounds like you got an awesome deal when woot was trying to clear stock. As you can see prices fluctuate So it would only make sense for woot to do pricing comparison with the price it is currently at on the market.

I have laminate floor throughout my house, but in my living room I do have a shag rug. Would this particular model be able to handle that? It isn't a really long shag, but definitely longer than regular carpet.

I was about to buy a replacement battery for my 560 when it started dying out after about 10 minutes use when I found this in an Amazon review and it worked like a charm, no new battery needed.......

Run the ROOMBA until the unit stops. Let it sit for about 15 minutes and try running it again. Do this until it no longer will start up. Then, remove the battery. Flip it over and hold down the POWER button for 20-25 seconds. Release. Flip back over and insert the battery. (I also took this opportunity to thoroughly clean all of the contacts with a Q-Tip and a little rubbing alcohol - letting it dry completely before putting the battery back in). Finally, I plugged the power supply directly into the ROOMBA (not the docking station) and let it charge for 3 days.

NOTE: It may be necessary to do this 2 or 3 times (for a total of 9 days with no ROOMBA), but that time is cheaper than a replacement battery.

My extremely late two cents: I bought this because i have a dog that sheds a lot. I found it did clean very well but too often i was forced to clean the brushes, etc, as the dog hair wreaked havoc on all the parts. I finally gave up and bought a Dyson. I later took Carlos (my mother named it) to my office where he is doing well. little bits of paper and the dirt from my potted plants is much more within his range. Also, my roomba was delivered damaged. Only one wheel was working properly but by the time i realized it was already out of warranty.

I got mine a few hours ago and its running! So after about 20 minutes of it going around the downstairs, we notice is picking up but a bit louder than we expected. Still cool to watch though. Thanks Woot!!!!

I got mine on Saturday and it already has the Aerovac bin and replacement filter. Score! It really does seem to work better than the standard bin.

How would I know what the upgraded bin looks like?

This does NOT come as pictured: It comes with a basic non-automatic virtual wall! This is a big deal because the other one goes through C batteries about once a week if you leave it on where as the automatic version lasts 6 months!! This is technically a bit of BAIT and SWITCH. IROBOT should be sending the right COMPONENTS.

Thanks for the heads up! I just checked mine and I got a Black Virtual Wall that does NOT match the picture! It is a different model!

So I contacted Woot about my unit coming with the incorrect Virtual Wall. They emailed me back and said they did not have any spare units and suggested I call iRobot.

So I just got off the phone with iRobot and they said the 530 comes with the white virtual wall and the 531 (Refresh model), comes with a black Virtual Wall. So you will need to check your serial number to verify what unit it should come with.

According to iRobot, the difference is the white VW has the feature to extend the reach of the virtual wall. The Black unit is always set to the max power of the white VR.

I am assuming from the call that Woot used the incorrect picture and we all actually purchased the 531 (Refreshed refurb)model that comes with the Black VR.

Did anyone here get a White VR?

I like to name my technology, I bought one of these and got it setup last night. I named it Grant after Grant Imahara from the TV show MythBusters (he has a passion for robots if you hadn't guessed). I tweeted about naming the roomba. Evidently its unique, Grant replied to my tweet (https://twitter.com/grantimahara/status/210963805667213313).

Thought I would share with the rest of the woot community.

No, we don't announce when items will be for sale. Heck, we don't know ourselves sometimes until the last minute.

Just keep checking back and be sure to check all the sites. An item like this can be on Woot, Home, Sellout, or Moofi
