I liked the original site best, but eventually got used to the new layout. It was clean and functional.

This version is a mess. This is a deal a day site -- emphasis should be on the deal. It's way too cluttered and unfocused.

So did the staff have a contest to see who could design the most cluttered screen? And yet for all the carp on the page you can't be bothered to give any details on the actual product being sold? I'll assume this is some pathetic attempt to "double" your clicks per day to appease your Amazon overlords? Trashy, ghetto design. It's a good textbook example of everything I hate about Web 2.0.

I do like the enhanced account management features and being able to use my amazon logon, but the user experience starts with the page design, which is just a disaster.

It would be nice if this layout had a day and night version and changed through either the user or the time and its zone.

I look for deals day and night so a natural change from light to dark would be nice.

What made WOOT so special was that it's ONE DAY, ONE DEAL model. Half of the fun was logging on to see what was there.

From now on we will always know what is there... the same old stuff as everywhere else. Just loads more of it, brightly thrust upon us. there is no longer a difference between WOOT and everyone else.

Just feels like a sell out.

The "Stuff You Bought" page is, well, simply amazing. While looking at the pictures of my previous buys, emotions were evoked. There they were (in glorious color no less): all my favorite shirt.woot tees which I wear with delight everywhere, my beloved vornado zippi fan...the list goes on. Okay, it's now officially love for the new site. It made me feel warm, cozy, valued, and part of a greater glory. Thank you Woot Gods.

Put WootPlus in thumbnails on the right instead of screaming at me like neon stores at the mall. THEN we'll talk.

Ok, I've given it a few hours and

- Clutter McClutter Pants

- BRIGHT

- I don't know, I think Woot has finally lost it's "je ne sais quoi".

- This isn't Woot. It's Amazon's version of what they think Woot should be (and how it should make more moola) and in making the change the stripped the wootness right out of Woot. It should now be called Wootazon.

- Everything just looks generic.

- The stories were my favorite part and they aren't getting the limelight they deserve.


In closing, What they've done here is taken a Bugatti Veyron and covered it in one of those tacky vehicle wraps with a boring advertisement on it. Sure it's a Bugatti, but it's advertising denture paste.

We've reached out to the iOS developer to fix this bug. In the interim we are building a workaround on our end.

People always resist change, me being one of them. I like things simple, however I am just so glad woot is back up I dont care if the screen looks slightly more "busy". Seriously woot, was there warnings I missed? When I tried to log on and it was "Under Maitenance" I was distraught. I think I can classify Woot! as an addiction now. I dont drink coffee, I just get my daily dose of woot when I wake up in the morning!

No, more like a indie geek rock band from Seattle has finally gone all the way mainstream. The reason they were popular is because they were indie, local and unique...now they are becoming Pop... but, I still love you woot...I am just dissapoint.

"features" - With the tin-like speakers, it is difficult for two very close adults to watch a DVD without stopping every few minutes - each questioning the other - "What did she saw? Should we go back 30 seconds?"
With two pair of headphone and splitter - same problem, but to a lesser extent.
Also, cable from power wart seems determined to slowly back out of the laptop, you will not know it until the batteries level shuts down system.

As long as we're discussing the site here and not so much the deal, I'll post here what I posted on the thread about the redesign:

No, no, no, no, no. This design is clutter-ific. The eye doesn't know where to go, plus the site has lost its personality, especially with the descriptions truncated and buried on "page 2."

This design looks as cheap and gimmicky as every other deal-of-the-day site out there.

The auto-scrolling "discuss this deal" is utterly useless, unless you sit and wait for it to scroll, whereas the previous LIST of quotes was useful AT A GLANCE.

The Woot Plus is too prominently featured and distracts from the primary deal.

Worse, the cutesy new font (reminiscent of the gawdawful Comic Sans) is used WAY too liberally, to the point of distraction.

This is Web 2.0 for the sake of Web 2.0. It's been designed for the designer's own pleasure, and to drive more sales, but definitely NOT for a better user experience.

I love that there is a quick little formatting guide right to the comment box and one doesn't really have to open the guide in a new tab/window. Yay!

I'm not the biggest fan of this redesign, but as long as it doesn't require a Facebook authorization/login, I'm cool. Nothing pisses me off more than every site "conveniently syncing" to Facebook these days. I just need Facebook to stalk hot girls from high school. Everyone else can screw off.

Having never gotten a Bouts of Consternation I now know what would be in one. It is the new Woot.

Time to change my bookmarks to remove Woot since it is now just another totally redundant shopping site and not the quirky one deal a day I used to find interesting. I suppose I will now just hit up eBay with a random termin the search box for a Wootlike experience.
