add more description in the title like - refurb, memory, disk size... you know like the old site. I do like the tabs with the specs and what not but I want some basic info up top so I don't have the click and drilldown unless I'm interested!

Right there with you. I'm over $2k since October of 2005 but apparently that wasn't enough for W00t!

Also, the white background makes my eyes hurt.

The old site wasn't broke so don't change it. Someone must be bucking for a promotion by 'fixing' problems that don't exist. Show them the door and put the site back to the way it was!

I agree! It was "different" here. Now it's not.

ThePict wrote:This used to be a lovely little geek site. Now it is looking like just another site with crap for sale with ads littering up the page. Much like I told Costco when they went from a wholesale outlet to a store I could get better prices for stuff at Sears I'm fearing my woot days are over. So sad to see you go to the dark side Woot. It has been a great run, and I'll miss you,

I’m not opposed to change…heck I was one of the first of my friends to switch to the FB Timeline…but this…where to start: Too BRIGHT (talk about blinded by the light), busy, busy, busy, and making me “click” to read more?…Bleh.

The good stuff…love the navigation bar, love the $5.00 shipping site wide (for a limited time), love my purchasing history all in one place, and strangely enough…love the page when I do “click” to read more…has all the info I would have liked to see on the main page.

Bottom line: Yes, I will continue to visit daily.

Believe it or not, some of us still use desktops not iPads and don't need giant clickable icons and huge text.

The new woot caters to iPad users and it sux. Admit it!!

The home page is cluttered and offers no information about the product offered for sale. But... I think you're attempting to create some sort of portal to woot! properties. Too bad that your attempt was thwarted by noise on entry. If I'm a casual wooter, I'm not going to convert as easily. First off, it's horrible on a mobile device such as an iPhone. No mobile device layout means no purchase. Second, the scrolling past the fold to get to nothing but ads and marketing vomit won't last. Your conversion rates will show nothing gets bought off of those things. Fire those guys who A/B tested this design. They lied to you about conversion metrics. Third, the product details pages are fine. Easy to see details, specs, product images... Fine. Too bad it's not obvious how to get there. I clicked on the product image because I understand this crap. Fourth, you've got tab navigation between your woot! properties and one on the left side says home! Hahaha... No "Home" for you, you meant home.woot didn't you. Sucker. By the way, mouse over actions on mobile devices are out. Can I suggest testing a few more landing page designs? Meanwhile, I'll be designing a woot! collator so I can show you what a responsive layout along with useful information can do. I'll find a way to make you buy it from me and I'll be rich. Thanks for the opportunity to revise your design!

I want to know where the chat went for the Bouts of Consternation from the wootoff. It disappeared which is good and bad. Now we will be surprised when we get what we ordered but bad because it brought on a lot of fun while waiting. Or is it I'm just blind and don't see it listed at all? Cuz' it could be that also LOL

Never mind I just found it LOL Told ya I was blind LOL

I like the top navigation bar. Needs a moofi.woot tab.

I don't like the scrolling comments. Text is too small, and color/fonts make it hard to read; and section flashes by too fast. It is distracting on the page. Would be better to allow reader to click arrow to progress & read comments at his/her own speed.

I'm using a netbook and the pages do not autofit screen. It's a cosmetic pain - requireing manual resize of window to view contents without scrolling page.

Agreed, the new layout is much worse than the old one:

1)no way to just scroll down to the specs.

2)no way to see a few comments at a time, instead I have to use the annoying scroll window.

3)the loading time is much longer with all the new JS bs floating around.

Five thumbs down!

Like the menu bar at the top, like the combination of "stuff you bought". In a nutshell, keep those changes and trash the rest.

Don't like: Not enough product info on the front page. Would like to see the write up and the product specs without extra searching and clicking. If you just can't bear to part with the other stuff, move it to the bottom.

The weather channel recently changed its format and now you have to load at least three pages to get current conditions, today's weather, and a weather map of the area. I'm done with them. It seems that this site is going that was as well??? I like woot better than weather, so I might hang on longer.

PS. This message window to enter the message is really, really narrow (firefox 12)

I GET DISTRACTED BY OTHER LINKS ON THE NEW WOOT SO FORGOT TO READ THE STORY, WOOT ITS NOT FUNNY ANYMORE.

Like other have said, you went yahoo, instead of going google, well said, (kinda makes sence since woot had some kind of arrangement with yahoo with sellout.woot.com)

Layout is to busy; old layout was simple and clear.

I also don't like sign-in prompts when I'm just browsing or even voting.

The only time I would sign in is if I'm ordering or posting a comment.

Official member since 2005: DO NOT LIKE.

Why do I have to click on the 'read more' to get to the products description and specifications? Extra clicks for ad revenue? This is an annoying thing to me.

I'm not going to sign in with my Amazon account, unless my Amazon Prime membership will get me free 2-day shipping on Woot items? (doubt that'll happen). When you rolled out the ability to sign in with other accounts, I didn't switch, and I'm not going to stop using my Woot! Account.

In my opinion this new design seems to be an attempt to be Amazon-fied by your new corporate overlords.

First you change my beloved Woot! Monkeys (I have over 150 and counting), now you make a drastic change on the site. What happened Woot!? You used to be cool.

My eyes!!!!! Please consider a nice eggshell white or ivory. Seriously, it hurt my eyes this morning.

My biggest complaint....There's no link to the discussions for each item on my "crap I bought" page. That's how I always got updates on shipping delays, or if I wanted to see other peoples post purchase feedback. It was one of the first things I noticed. I wanted to add a comment to the discussion on something I wooted months ago, but I can't find the blog entry for it through search and no quick "discussion" link next to the item in my account.

Bad Woot, bad bad Woot. You've really gone down hill fast in the past year or so, like it was a race to mediocrity. A race which I'm sorry to say you're winning. I used to tell everyone about Woot, absolutely rave about wootoffs. Now I'm embarrassed to admit I still come here almost daily, forget about spreading the gospel.

The rework is a thinly veiled disguise for a new layout whose only purpose is to house more advertising. Formerly, the prose that accompanied a woot item was our reward for being asked to consider a purchase. The new display shoves stuff in the face, demanding attention. Woot has lost its charm and become just another retailer. I feel like I've lost a friend.

It's way too busy, and I really don't like having to click a link to go to another page to read a product's description and the fun little story. That is especially going to suck during Woot Offs.

I do like the bar at the top, though.

No margins
Won't fit in 1024x768
Must click to see New vs. Refurbish

You're selling a computer today. I had to click two links to see the specs. I used to have to click nothing. If you only have one product (as Woot prides itself on), you shouldn't make your users work to see what it is!

89 woot purchases since Jan 21, 2005.
Total spent : $3750.10

Glad these changes make it less likely I will do an impulse buy of your items. Should save me lots of money.

Neat facts :
Most expensive item purchased:
Washer/Dryer : $1629.15
Cheapest item purchased:
Meh Shirt : $0.00 (with coupon)

I agree Woot has lost its charm. The deals haven't been as good as they were in the pre amazon days. Not as much fun. Not as unique as they once were. How many Dyson or Rumba vacuums do you need? Most of the deals I can find on another site for the same price. I guess with all the advertising it would be apropos if the opening page was SELLOUT Woot. Bye,Bye

Too crowded, too many pages now need to be clicked through.

What happened to the simple, easy to see at a glance approach that got Woot here?

I'm not against change, but changing things should make them easier and more enjoyable to use, not harder and less fun.

Agreed as well. I like the web 2.0 change to the graphics and styling, but the general layout and placement of ads makes things very busy and cluttered feeling. Maybe it's because I'm used to years of the old layout and knowing just where to look for exactly what I want to find.

My only problem is the huge banner that pops up when you first load the site, asking you to login. I don't want to. My browser dumps all cookies on exit, so even if I click "don't show this again", the next time I visit, it'll be back. There's no reason I should have to login (or say I don't want to) just to view the site.
