Because the sound in and mic out (I/O for you fellow audio nerds out here) is integrated in one line here, you will only be able to use one of the two options if you plug it into your computer. Meaning, it will serve EITHER as a mic OR a headset, and you will have to use optional equipment with a PC or Mac to supplement.
That said, I bought the white/orange set in the Woot-Off in April, and I'm glad I did. No, they do not compare to broadcast/professional quality pair of Sonys or Sennheisers. But for listening to music on the commute or making long phone calls, these provide excellent value. And they also have held their appearance despite my many calls made on the porch.
There are very few moving parts to worry about breaking . They look great, although as others have mentioned they are bass-heavy. The oval, articulating ear cups are incredibly comfortable, even outdoors, in Texas, in June as I had the chance to experience. The 2 cords are a bit of a letdown - casual users are not going to take advantage of the 1/4 inch cable, and pro users won't like the treble-to-bass ratio. But for audiophile on a strict budget who wants one pair of headphones to travel, make Android/iPhone calls, and listen to music, this is a great set.
And for $10 less than I paid, I'm jealous.
