Is anybody else having this problem? I've tried ordering three different pairs of Gunnar Optiks glasses today. Each time I place the order, I'm brought a screen claiming that my transaction has been "Withheld". It says that they're all sold out of that model, but if one of the transactions ahead of me doesn't go through I'll get my pair.

I'm finding it a bit hard to believe that each pair of glasses is on the brink of being sold out, and has been that way without formally being declared sold out for several hours. What's going on?

I have also experienced this problem. I don't know how to fix this.

I am going to be so dissappointed if these are sold out. When I saw that they were available I jumped on them instantly because Ive always wanted to try Gunnars but been hesitant because of the cost.


Woot will really lose some loyalty here if they got my hopes up...

Ok, I'm told that "withheld" means that we don't have inventory at this time to fill your order HOWEVER, if someone's order is declined (credit card issues), then your order could be completed and filled.

Yes thank you, thats mainly what the status page says, but my question is why are they not being reported as sold out on the main page?

EDIT: Also can you tell us if there are any of the Gunnars that are still in stock?

I'm with this guy (hi racingfreak!), if there aren't any pairs left just show them as sold out and stop tormenting us.

Unfortunately, I don't have access to our sales/inventory information.

I have passed on your frustrations to the development team though.

I would also like to encourage you to use the beta feedback button at the top right as well.

Im hoping maybe when it ticks 1am EST and the servers refresh for tomorrow the inventory might update...

Thanks a lot for the help ThunderThi(ghs)! I will leave feedback, and hopefully I end up grabbing a pair, have literally look at almost every sale for Gunnars in the last two years looking for an affordable price, and this was it. Hopefully it works out.

I am also having withheld issues. Sent an email to service@woot.com. I really want a pair of these glasses, but I don't want to be on a waiting list for several or possibly none. At this point I'll take any model that will actually get me to a receipt page instead of this vague withheldness.
EDIT: Also just sent beta feedback about adding a cancel/opt-out of waiting list button so we don't have to worry about trying to purchase different (hopefully not sold out) models/colors and possibly winding up ordering several pairs because one or more of the withhelds actually went through.

Tried several pairs myself with the same message. Gonna be a bit irritated if I end up with several pairs of glasses :/

I just got the lowdown on what caused the problems. First, apologies from all of us at Woot for this frustrating experience. It's definitely not the way we want to see things work.

It seems that there was a hiccup in the WootPlus system that kept these offers from being properly marked as Sold Out so it kept accepting orders. Once discovered, the developers fixed each sold out offer manually and monitored the couple available models personally until they too sold out.

Again, apologies for this experience and rest assured that it's being fixed for future sales.

Thanks for investigating this for us, TT. I too was having this issue, so I tried again a couple more times throughout the day. When I wrote to service@woot.com, I got a reply but it was rather vague. Also found out that I now had 3 orders for glasses (What's the Features?, I only needed 1), and I couldn't change my orders. A little frustrated, to say the least.

Then I poked around the community tab, and found this thread. I'm glad I did, as I now know what happened. I'm indeed sad that I couldn't get one of these glasses, and I would have happily purchased a different model than I wanted if I knew they were actually available. I hope woot can get more Gunnars again someday so I can try again.

At least it won't happen again (hopefully). Thanks again for the info, TT.

Update: per the suggestions above, I submitted my beta feedback report to request letting us view and cancel any withheld orders still in the queue limbo, before they're accepted or denied.

For those curious, here was my report:

That's great and all, but I'd also like to request a way to see what orders we have in a "withheld" queue, and a way to cancel them if needed. Here's why: when I saw that my order didn't go through after a couple hours, I tried again (still got the Withheld message). I tried again a couple hours later, same thing. I try again one more time later still, and I'm told that I have exceeded my purchase limit.

Contacting service@woot.com, I'm told that I indeed had 3 orders placed already, and that I can't edit it. That is unacceptable. They should be indicated somewhere (probably "stuff you bought" section), so they can at least be canceled if they float there for too long, so we can try going for a different model instead.
