Not cool, Woot. You're shaking my confidence.

Just email them and tell them what you want. There's no point in complaining about how hard it will be before you even try.

They are awesome, just email them, they will fix it fast. They are great to work with.

I have mine for more than 2 months for maybe $30 more here. I like mine a lot despite some short comings. I got it especially for the long optical zoom. I want a small compact with long zoom. The ultra macro is a plus. I do have issues with setting the white balance. In good light, the pictures are very good. I have already taken over 4000 pictures this little camera.

Well I did that, of course, before I posted. What makes you think I didn't? It just seemed useful to let other people know to watch their emails, and not to keep clicking "Place Order" in rapid succession, even if they get an error message that says "Oops! Try again!"

But yes, I did get a quick response from Woot--they've canceled one order. They said they were having some server issues (we noticed) and I'm not alone in having a screwed-up order. But bottom line: it appears to be fixed, and they were quick and helpful about it.

(I suppose you thought I would just post my complaint, and not the resolution, too?)

What the Woot is going on? How much longer will it be when Woot will have more items than Amazon?

Purchased this camera on 4/9/2012
thru Woot. Received camera on 4/23/2012.Camera would not hold a charge for more than 30 hours. Returned Camera to Pentax on 5/8 which they received on 5/11/2012. They have determined that a part is defective and backordered on 5/24. Their Service Dept. has stated this is on warranty. As of today 6/12/2012 the part is still on backorder.
Lots of luck on this camera if something goes wrong.

No, I just knew you were worrying for nothing because I've had issues before and they've always taken care of me by email without any questions.

Seems to be very shoddy service from Pentax, without question they should have sent you a new camera. Ridiculous that they ordered a part to fix a brand new camera and have kept you waiting.

Which one are you trying to order so I can try it?

And at what point are you getting the server error?

The more info the better, please.

UPDATE: Was able to reproduce. I've notified the team. Please stand by.

UPDATE 2: You should be good to go!

I tried Black then Silver...decided not to try again. Someone on here said they ended up with 2 Cameras after Server Errors.

You can look at Stuff You Bought (top right of the page) to see what orders you have. If you see multiple orders, just email service@woot.com and they'll help you out. I believe there's even someone working tonight to help you.

EDIT: And the problems are resolved. You should be able to order with no problems now. Buy 3!

Big zoom for small, flat camera. Turns on very fast compared to our previous cameras. Easy to use. I use a video camera for video so I cannot comment on that aspect. I do not use all the fancy options like white balance, that is what photoshop is for. Only real downside for me is not being able to use AA batteries, but I did get a second battery as spare.

I ordered this camera within minutes of seeing t on woot (around 6:00am est). However, apparently the transaction was cancelled by woot - without any explanation. What happened???

I sit here with mixed emotions. Photos barely acceptable - and seems camera hates plant green. I find zoom great, as let me capture a license plant a hundred feet away. Photo CU (closeup) and Super CU on coins and book text look very good to excellent (with errors from me getting too close in Macro or too far using SuperMacro. Video not so good to awful, and blurry, the zoom making it drastically worse. In two dozen tests, I get mixed outcomes, though everything lacks a crispness and sharpness. For the price, I call it a terrific point and shoot camera for photos. Though I wonder if I got one from a bad batch due to the dreadfully awful video at all settings. Will probably keep this since don't want to risk getting a worse one in exchange. For my money, as a neighborhood watcher, its zoom makes it worth the hundred bucks.
UPDATE: Suggest you try this method if you experienced this issue. On verge of sending camera to Pentax in Arizona (I called corp. and told to send it) to see why camera so fuzzy when zoomed in Movie Mode, I decided to run a series of tests using every feature per the manual. Lo! found that clear zoom in Movie will not work - per a tiny type notation in the manual (p.23, memo 3) - "You can use the optical zoom only before recording". Went outside, and focused the camera using MF (manual focus) several hundred feet away where three police cars had cordoned some thug. Once camera manually focused, I started Movie recording - and YES! - it recorded sharply (tad shaky due to extreme zoom). This saved the camera from shipment in the morning to Arizona. I tested recording while zoomed in on stop signs several blocks away and faces of birds perched on antenna on rooftops nearby, and got surprisingly superb closeups in Movie Mode.

Sorry for the issues with the camera. Just an idea, have you contacted Pentax support for troubleshooting on the issue?
