Just played with imovie, never tried this before, but if you sent the camera to "upload" and plug it in, imovie will import it fast and you can then save it in any format on your mac. Really easy.

I see many camcorders that come with AC adapters, as does this one. Does that mean that you can bypass the battery (and bad battery life) altogether by having it plugged into AC all the time? For what I'd be using it for I'll nearly always have an AC plug nearby.

Yes, you can. It compromises mobility if you're shooting on the go (naturally), but if your needs are amendable to keeping the unit plugged in, it is certainly a sensible method to overcoming the limited battery life.

It's a great camcorder, the HD quality is excellent. Only drawback; you have to download extra software for it to be compatible with Mac. But thats minor compared to how badass it is.
