I just need one for browsing the web while on the couch and entertaining my son with YouTube videos or loaded videos while traveling or out to dinner. Will this meet these basic needs? I was considering an iPad but the price difference and my basic needs have me leaning to this. Thanks!
This will meet your basic needs, as will others for less money. Just beware of "deals" with Android 2.2, etc. You need 4.0...unless you want to get into the murky world of "rooting" and modifying your unit. How much is the cheapest iPad2? There are TONS of games and stuff for FREE that (in my opinion) look better on the iPad. You don't need 64 GB.
However, if you are going to load up with downloaded videos, etc, the Android system will free you up to do that more easily.
I don't think you'll be using WIFI in your car to watch YouTube.
acpress.com Not cute, but useful.

Can this be tethered to a phone via the USB port? I have Easy-Tether an it won't work with the ViewSonic I bought eons ago. I'd love to be able to tether if possible.

Thanks, for the info. The reason is, Sprint charges an additional 30 bucks a month if you want your phone to be a hot spot. Easy Tether was 10 bucks on sale one time payment. If I'm were there isn't a hot spot I can tether my laptop to my phone. It would be nice to be able to do that with the tablet.
