Something to consider.

On that note, memory foam mattresses are TERRIBLE for sex. No bounce.

I wouldn't call this soft. Once you are laying in it and it conforms, I find it quite comfortable (more than I thought I would) - but it is pretty firm in general. If you are someone that feels a pillowtop mattress and thinks "ah, heaven" - this is not the mattress for you. I prefer a firm mattress so I like it a lot.

I am usually very opened minded to products made in China, however I hear with memory foam there is a HUGE difference. For $100 more I can get a made in the USA one at Costco with a 20-yr warranty. Thanks anyway Woot!

That's actually me lying on the mattress in the video, and I really did feel comfortable. It was firm and soft at the same time, and it held my weight perfectly. I will add that I didn't spend the night on it but I absolutely was ready to take a nap. That face-crushing comfort you see in the video was not an act, and it seemed fine to me.

Would anyone know how durable these are? I don't want a foam mattress that collapses in a few months. I'm a bit concerned because the warranty is only 90 days. Compare that with the 5+ year warranty of most spring mattresses and the 10 year (?) warranty of the Tempurpedic.â„¢

The 2.5-inches of "Plush Foam Topper" is for biding time until it's squished down to the plastic, sweaty, unbearably hot "High Density Supportive Base".

Perhaps, but in this instance I think there's more truth than not. The 90 day warranty speaks volumes about the company standing behind the product. Yes, a Serta is going to cost 3x as much, but you're getting a multi-decade long warranty which is clearly spelled out-eg. returnable if foam height decreases by a certain amount. 3 months is not a lot of time to determine the quality, integrity, and longevity of the mattress. I'd rather pay $1200 for a mattress I can return in 5 years versus $400 for a mattress I can't return in 5 months.

Nearly suckered in for a full size..but was convinced that this is a Sarah Peyton brand.

Thanks for others sharing this info, plus the additional time it took me to research earlier...luck ran out, to my benefit. The full size was out of stock.

Besides the 90 day warranty, this is not a bargain deal at all. I've seen a lot longer warranty for a much lower price shipped.

I have one now, they come rolled up and compressed but once they are expanded - well, short of a steam-roller I don't see how it could ever get back to that size...

Easy ... do it the same way the factory does it: Vacuum packing. All foams, including styrofoam, are mostly air. That's why they're so light. Whereas styrofoam is non-compressible, mattresses are highly compressible. Simply roll up the mattress and put in a large garbage bag (the type murderers use to dispose bodies). Wrap the opening tightly around a vacuum hose, making sure it's airtight. Turn on the vacuum and suck the air out. You'll see the mattress shrink. Don't compress too much though or the foam may be damaged. Then quickly pull out the hose and seal the bag. This is similar to those vacuum clothing storage bags.

I have a queen-size foam mattress (not this Woot one). It weighs a ton...95#. It is unmoveable. In fact, just having to lift the corner to put on fitted sheets is a pain.
Your vacuum idea will never work. Nice, in theory, but you'll never find a garbage bag big enough to hold the rolled-up mattress or a vacuum cleaner with enough suction to suck the air out of the bag.

Just want to add my 2c to assist anyone thinking of purchasing.

I have bought the queen size mattress from Woot twice, for use by myself (6' 160lbs) and my gf (5'2ish <130lbs). The first time, maybe 4 years ago, I had to wait quite a while before I could bring the large package home (had to have it delivered to the office) and I think that the mattress suffered because of it. We were very pleased at first and the sleep experience was great, but I don't think that it ever fully reached full thickness and it eventually developed noticeable ruts from our sleeping positions.

After a little over a year we developed back pain from the poor support and bought the 2nd mattress from woot. The 2nd mattress I was able to open immediately after delivery and give it the full amount of time to air out and reach full thickness / loss of smell. We are very pleased so far with the difference, and have not noticed any ruts developing so far. I still rotate the mattress on every sheet washing though, just for good measure.

I actually bought a memory foam mattress not so long ago. Not from Woot, but from Amazon. Lucid by Linespa. I read a lot of reviews, heard a lot of stories.

Anyway, I've come to one conclusion: You'll either be happy or you won't.

Some people love theirs, I surely appreciate mine, despite trying dozens in stores, some of them several hundreds more than what I paid on Amazon, I can't say the prices were worth it, except for the ones that were thousands more.

That's a bit much for my finances.

Is it hot when I'm trying to sleep? Sure, but so was my old mattress that was inner-spring. Is it firm? Sure, but that was what I wanted.

Others might not like it, they might love something else more. Or this mattress might wear out in a few years. I couldn't tell you.

All I can say is...good luck, I hope things work out with you. As I said, either you love or you hate it.

I bought a king memory foam mattress from Woot last year for $350. It looks slightly different, but the density and memory foam thickness are the same. This mattress has airflow ventilation, which likely explains the higher price tag.

Just a few months ago my mattress has started to sag on my side of the bed (I'm about 200lbs), which causes me to roll around throughout the night to find a more firm section. My back has not been happy.
Also, the mattress's do stink for a while and took about a month to fully disappear, but was not a big deal.

One thing worth noting. I have not rotated my mattress since I bought it, which might help even out the wear - although it specifically said in the specs that the "Mattress never needs turning..."

Overall, I felt that the mattress was worth the price, but you get what you pay for.

I'd buy another one if Woot would come to my house and vacuum seal the old one so I can throw it away.

Mattress warranties are basically worthless. They require the mattress to have a sag of some number like 2 inches before they will do anything. Problem is that you will have a rut that you roll into deeper then that, but when you are not in the bed and put a straight edge across it, it does not show up - thus no warranty claim. They never have to honor the warranty and you are stuck with the rut!

Considering buying this, but I'm not going to if they don't list the manufacturer. Especially if it's just a 90 day warranty. That seems pretty weak for a mattress.

@ borntohunt: "Commercials on TV recommend that if your mattress is 8 years old or older then it needs to be replaced."

I'm unequivocably convinced that that's just a sales ploy. Let your body tell you when to replace your mattress, not some marketing lackey who makes a living by inventing facts. I could say a lot more, but I don't want Woot to delete my post.

Grrr. I must have had a bad day today, because that rant felt really good.........

I love my foam mattress pad but they do generate heat - and I found it difficult to sleep through the night. Dr Oz featured specially made mattress pads with "outlast technology", ie coolingmattress.com. Problem solved, best money spent for a comfortable nights sleep on a foam mattress.

It seems like most of the stuff posted on woot is only a couple cents cheaper than the same item on amazon. Once again, amazon has free 2 day shipping on most of the stuff if your prime member. If your a student then prime is free an obviously a better choice...

Just some perspective here. I owned a Temperpedic for ~8 years (sold it because I didn't want to move my furniture twice in a year due to temporary work assignments) and now own a 14" Sarah Peyton cal king I bought on Overstock three weeks ago.

I loved the Temperpedic when I lived in WI, but when I moved to SoCal near the ocean into a place w/o air conditioning it had a tendency to get hot in the summer. It was the original design however, so there were no air channels to disperse the heat. Temperpedic has those air channels now and a variety of firmness options to their mattresses... and the cal kings started at a little under $2000. My Sarah Peyton, which has the air channels and had 44 reviews on Overstock with an average of 4.4 stars, cost $600. So my thought was I could go through three Sarah Peytons before I would have shelled out the same as for the Temperpedic.

So far so good with the Sarah Peyton. It is not the model sold here though - I noticed that the 10" mattress has significantly lower customer ratings than the 14" so I went with the 14". It expanded fully, had a little bit of an odor that took 2 weeks to completely go away. No sagging yet, and the density is just about perfect - not too hard, not to soft. It is a 4lb density, but all layers are 4lb density, no firm base plus topper; the only difference between the layers is that the top two layers have the air channels in them.

So think about it this way - you could go through 3-4 of these mattresses before you would have spent the same amount as a Temperpedic or other name brand. As for warranty, all mattress warranties including the Temperpedic are prorated - you will only get a fraction of your money back depending on how long you've had it.

No mattress manufacturer makes their own Foam of any kind, regardless of what a salesperson might tell you. They all buy it from foam manufacturers here in the USA and assemble them under their own name or buy the mattress from China to resale here. You are right to be concerned about what you are buying, but don't think that name brands make much difference (except in price) in overall satisfaction. As in most mail orders, just make sure you can send it back if you don't like it.
