Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

I voted "pool" although I personally prefer "air hockey".

Shuffleboard. A decent table will run at least a couple K's but hey, I guess you can afford it if you're a king.

I loved playing snooker, it's hard to find a table around anymore.

The ultimate would have Air Hockey, Pool, and Foos.

Same! billiards has a much cooler vibe.....cause you can smoke lucky strikes, and listen to jazz while playing, do not try that playing air hockey tho

Carpetball!!! Hardly anyone knows what it is but we had 'em at camp and our dad built us a table.

Drunken fist fights. Seriously. In terms of memorable competition, none of the other other choices are close. How many table tennis games can anyone recall that became the stuff of legends? And Darts? Really? How many dart matches are worthy of a spirited family discussion at Thanksgiving dinner? (OK, there was one. The time when Jerry took a dart deep into his thigh. But that started the drunken fist fight that still ranks as one of the top three events in our Rec Room).

+1 for pinball. I grew up with an arcade pinball and Mrs. Pacman machine. THAT makes a rec room.

Hooray, someone else that knows shuffleboard is played on a table, not a deck.

How is Darts not getting a better showing? With one board and a few darts you get a variety of games, quick turn around, and the potential for horrendous bodily injury. Plus, the game is supposed to be played after having at least 1 or 2 beers. Where's the downside? Pinball is great, but if the power goes out, you can still light a candle to play darts.

I couldn't agree more! I've got 13 personally restored machines in my basement, next to a MAME cabinet and a pool table. It just wouldn't be a rec/game room without them!

I love pinball, and would buy 1 or more machines if I had a rec room. But it's not the Game of Kings.

Ahem. A true monarch would assert that the Game of Kings is whatever the monarch declares it to be. Thus, We reassert that it is both pinball (ahh, such shout-y, hip-thrusting loftiness of sweet bells and fast balls!) and shuffleboard (petanque for beer-drinkers!).

I rose in rainy autumn and walked abroad in a shower of all my days.

My initial reply was going to be a MAME cabinet... however seeing the pinball machine comments, I'm inclined in their direction as well... decisions decisions...

Haha! sounds like my family room back on the east coast. Drunken fist fights was a tertiary sport after the Scotch n Beer guzzling events.

Nowadays, Chess is the game of kings for me.
