Journey with us to the bygone days of knights and nobles! Ah, 'twas a time of romance and chivalry! ('Twas also a time of poor sanitation and verminborne plague, but who wants to see dinner theater about that?)

We recently got our joust on at Medieval Times in Dallas, where the lighter side of the Dark Ages comes to life every night. Three shows on Saturdays!

If you hated this video then please, for your own sake, never ever watch our Travelcam videos about:

The Zombie Apocalypse Store in Las Vegas

or Lion Country Safari in Florida

or The Call of the Wild Museum in Michigan

or The Frank Frazetta Museum in East Stroudsberg, Pennsylvania

or The Champlain Valley Expo in Essex Junction, Vermont

Don't waste your money or your time! If you have small children they're certain to enjoy it but the food is terrible. You can get a better meal at McDonalds.

I like the travel cam videos. Fun and entertaining, and makes me want to travel to said places.
You should travel to my house next. We can all play Halo and I'll make..uh..potatoes..Ramen..and grilled cheese. That's pretty much all I know how to do.

Meh.. We've been several times with my son. We all enjoy it, and I personally think the food is pretty darn good. I don't like the rib they give you, but the chicken was good and so is the dragon scale soup. I will say that its been about 5 years since I've been, so maybe something has changed.

I'm going to disagree with the quoted poster and say that everyone should go at least once. Its worth every penny and even more so if you take kids. My son is now 13, its been about 5 yrs since we last went & he still ask to go back every time we are in Dallas. Its been one of his favorite things that we've done in Dallas, and we've pretty much done it all.

I wonder if it's been semi-recently upgraded. Before I went, I got several warnings about how terrible the food was, and they turned out to be false alarms.

I mean, I realize frank's probably exaggerating for rhetorical effect, but "a better meal at McDonald's" goes well beyond hyperbole into crazy territory.

(I guess you could argue we didn't get a gourmet meal at MT, but it was fine. And they don't even serve *food* at the clown's joint.)

Touche.

"..the Roman-esqu period of the early 1990s.." Lol the height of dragon slaying and wenches! This place looks pretty awesome; the closest thing we have to anything like this where I am is minigolf and car washes.

If you're (anyone is) really interested in falconry, find a local master and they will train you and get you to where you can be licensed. Help you capture a fledgling bird and train it. It has to be one of the most difficult hobbies there is. Especially letting your bird go after a few years and starting all over.

I've been to the Dallas one twice and enjoyed it both times. The food is fine but if you're bringing kids, be prepared for them to beg for souvenirs... expensive souvenirs.

Anyone know how to get discounts or have knowledge of the water park? Sounds fun.

My food reference was for the venue in Orlando, Florida not Dallas. Maybe the Dallas venue has better food or maybe McD's in Dallas is worse!

Then again, there are people who have a less sophistacted palate!

;-)

My comments stand for the Medieval Times in Orlando!

I went to the one in California. I enjoyed the show and cheering for my section's knight despite the following issues:

- If you arrive early to get good seats, you'll be waiting about two hours before you're finally seated. I ate a light breakfast and lunch so I was starving.

- It is chilly in the building and freezing cold in the "thunder dome". I only had my Black Knight Coat of (No) Arms t-shirt and a long-sleeve shirt on, so I was shivering.

- The stadium seating is like sitting in an airplane. (No reclining, no leg room; I couldn't even cross my legs.)

- You get one napkin for eating your bisque and bread and one wet wipe after eating the rest of your food.

We have an MT here at Myrtle Beach, we have been several times in the off season when the locals get great deals. We have always enjoyed the show, I kind of doubt anyone goes to enjoy the dinner! There is a totally new show this year, we will check it out come fall.

I have been there a few times, but the PA and MD Rennaisance faires are SO MUCH better. It is fun though. It doesn't look like yours holds as many people as the one in Floriday or New Jersey.

I really do think they must have upgraded it fairly recently. We got warnings about the food in Dallas exactly along the lines of your comments above, but our meal turned out not to warrant them at all.

I definitely don't have a "sophistacted" palate ;-), but found the food to be OK (and way, way better than CrackDonald's).

Pro-tip: If you desperately want silverware, order the vegetarian meal. It was a pleasant eggplant on rice type thing, and I got a fork.

You should have been forced to eat without silverware just like the others.

Actually the Medieval Times is in Kisimmee, Florida. And the dinner (IMHO)is better than the Arabian Nights show, and better than the now closed Dixie Stampede show.
But, hey, if your idea of good food runs to MickeyD's, then you should probably get out more.
