If it was one of the 10" X models I was contemplating getting one as a travel computer - 15" is just too big though. Oh well.

Thinkpads are the best ... Could be a better model, but not bad. I have 4 of them (T61, T510, X220, and the iwannabeathinkpad Edge POS)

These things are built like trucks, and just as heavy.

15" display that's 1366x768? Where I'm from, that's called "LegoVision"

Do any of the desktop/laptops woot sells include reinstall media? I've never seen it listed.

These are the computers that they issue us at work. I don't know if I am just really rough on computers or if there is a defect with these, but I have managed to break 5 of them. Two of them the mouse pad stopped working, one needed the hard-drive replaced, and 2 of them had serious network connection issues. Our IT department was unable to easily repair any of them.

The mentality that if it's better than the best computer I'd spend money on myself, it's amazing. If it's not better than the best computer I'd spend money on myself, it's a piece of junk 30 years old paperweight trash box and I'm outraged.

Not talking about the specs, referring to the design.

Most systems now have it on a separate boot partition on the hard drive... sucks if the drive dies and you didnt back it up. Pretty standard in the industry though to no longer send it.

A lot of people (myself included) love the design... I don't need lit fruit on my laptop lid.

I bought thius when it was first offered. Very happy with it. This discussion analyzed it to pieces and the bottom line, at least 2 months ago or so, was this was a good to go deal. 3 Year ThinkPad Warranty, Windows Professional for $499 worked for me. Happy with it ever since. BTW, make sure you upgrade the RAM to 8 GB right off the bat (Its a 64Bit OS. I got 2 x 4Gb from Microcenter very cheap (forgot what I paid) It comes with 2 x 2GB and only has 2 slots, so you need to get 2 x 4GB to upgrade.
I do recommend for the price (as long as hardware prices have satyed about the same in last 2 months)

(BTW, one downside, IT DOES NOT HAVE BLUETOOTH )

Don't mind that. I doesn't have to be a conversation piece. Or you like flashy tech to pick up chicks?

I just prefer a modern look.
