Oh, I'm planning a quick trip to the Sonic around the corner to get a Batter Blast.

Then back to wine. Who's with me. Chocolate and wine kind of night.

So these are what? Like cell phones that are tethered to your house and you pay an extra phone bill to use? Sounds awesome!

Yes, I have a regular phone and it just so happens it is this one! It has a good clear sound that doesn't pick up too much background noise. As far as a home phone I recommend it.

I don't have a land line but I still have my wireless phones like this (older version) that I keep connected for the Intercom feature.

I just saw this after posting mine. Now don't I feel silly! I AM a grown up! I stand by my sarcastic statement, however!

Hurry up and buy this already! I have an older version. I just knocked over one of the bases for the umpteenth time. No problem. I can walk around the OUTSIDE of the house and get a clear signal the entire time. My cell can't do that!

Oooh, Sonic... well, I am kinda hungry, but sadly there isn't a good bottle of wine around. If I down a Dos Equis after a Sonic Run, can I still join you?

I remember taking my son to a museum when he was about 5 and there was a dial phone. I explained what it was and how you dialed the number. Had him dial our number. He was totally amazed.

Seriously? A landline? People may still have these, but I sincerely doub t anyone buys new ones anymore. These are antiques.

I second that, my wife and I bought this exact one at walmart and after about a year and a half, it won't hold a charge anymore..worse part is that the replacement battery is too expensive, it is almost better just to buy a new phone.

You?

Cook's "Champagne" (It's from cali, so really it's just sparkling wine, but champagne is on the label.)
and a fresh liter of Orange Juice.
And perhaps some Crown if i'm feeling it once the champ is gone.

Weird. I bought my set a year or two ago, and it works great! My nearly-deaf mother hears better on these phones than on her phones specially made for the hearing-impaired.

Maybe your set was made on a Monday after a big holiday?

For a second I thought these where the ones that work through bluetooth with your cell phone. That's handy for leaving your cell phone charging while you still have a phone. This old school stuff is not so useful.

Before anyone asks,do people still use these.Yes we do,plus cell phones, but if you need 911 fast, you will wish you had a landline, with a landline if you can't talk for what ever reason, your address will come up,but with a cell phone, not going to happen.

Oddly tempted by these, but my current uniden 2 handset system works well as is (go voip.)

I'll second TT's comment about usefulness for intercom feature, on mine I get about a 2 block range so if you have some acreage good to keep one in the barn/shop/garage and one in the home

Exactly. We don't buy new ones, we buy refurbed ones because they're cheaper.

Oh dear, this is a serious problem... what ever in the world will we twirl when talking to our friends over the phone? Where will birds perch if we don't have wires for our phones?!?!

Made the mistake of buying these from woot about 5 months ago. Phones were unable to register to base right out of the box. Working with Uniden support was not helpful. Gave up. Not worth the postage to send in for repair. light fire to money-- it's faster and less frustrating. Waste of $35. :-(

I have my Ooma (Also purchased on Woot) feeding my internal house phone wiring, and have a couple wireless phones distributed through the house.

When I bought these it was with that use in mind. But Epic Fail!

I since got a pair on Panasonic wireless phones that are just dandy....

quality posts: 24 Private Messages Ninkumpoop

Had these for a couple years and have had no problems. Good sound quality and battery life. Mine is hooked up to an ooma box sold by woot.

And, yes, some of us need a land line due to lack of cell reception.

I recieved mine today ...and someone forgot to even bother to refurb them. YUK !!!! Hoping woot takes care of this issue. They are even dirty and very used and beat up. These had a lot of use before being returned.
