These are great for weddings and such, especially events like water polo. We tried it at a birth, but the results were less than spectacular.

Seriously though, there are serious advantages to a dedicated GPS reviver system. Among them are the ability to use your phone while the navigation screen stays visible. Also, the larger GPS receiver in the dedicated units can acquire signals better in difficult terrain.
