Seriously though, there are serious advantages to a dedicated GPS reviver system. Among them are the ability to use your phone while the navigation screen stays visible. Also, the larger GPS receiver in the dedicated units can acquire signals better in difficult terrain.

I use my phone for a GPS (and a phone and an e-reader and an mp3 player and a flashlight and....) so I don't have a GPS to go in one.
