Agreed, i would get it if it allowed me to plug in at the same time.

According to the item description, the micro USB connection on the case allows you to synchronize your iPhone with the case installed. A micro USB cable is included.

"Included micro USB cable can fully support charging and computer synchronization with the case installed on your iPhone"

Which Android? There are so many. Because of the many phones, and their typically short market life span, it is probably difficult for companies to want to make a new case for every phone.

But they certainly exist, do some searching.

Also does it make sense to charge it separate from the phone? Is that even possible?
Is taking it on and off detrimental to the case or phone, if I do it carefully? I just want to make sure I'm not doing anything that will harm either.

The recommended way to use this is to leave it off as long as the iPhone is working fine. Then once the iPhone starts saying its running low anywhere from 20% left to 1% ( your choice) then turn on the power on the case. From that point forward until the case itself is depleted your iPhone will think its plugged to the wall. Except it's plugged to the case and you are using it as normal.

Eventually when the case itself is depleted it's time to plug it into the wall. Alternatively plug it in sooner, which won't impact the iPhone battery life, but it may (debatable) impact the case's.

Obviously you could ignore this and keep it on all the time. But according to Apple you will be shortening the phone battery's life.

By the way the case can also be charged separately by itself. Which doesn't make sense if you use the case all the time but it does if you just want to use the case in special circumstances like charging it before a camping trip or long flight. Or if you need to use the iPhone docked to a non charging device.

Thank you! In for three. I have to use an itouch for my job (we use them for medical documentation), and the battery never makes it through a day. One for a gift for a friend who uses an Iphone, and one for a backup. Thanks, Woot!

i have (i think) this same case that i bought from woot a while back. i love, love, love it. it's basically another full battery charge for me, so it allows me to use (and i mean, heavily use) my phone all day. if i didn't already have two, i would get another one. but i fear that i might be labeled *that* crazy person if i have more than three of these chargers laying around my house.

I'm not sure why I would need one for my android (droid razr maxx), which has gorilla glass, kevlar, a 3300mAh battery and is 9 mm thick. I guess I could get an iphone and this case and have an almost as durable and almost as long-lasting phone while only 3 times as thick…

So dumb question about shipping and the notice about physical address at the bottom of the page. I do NOT get US Mail at my house. I have a PO Box. Can I still buy this? Thank you.

Purchased one a few months back and really love this case. I've had almost every case so far and this one has stuck with me the longest. Just bought another in case it breaks. Two problems so far with the case though. I bought the white version the last time and with the case on the camera does not work with the flash on. The photos come out gray. The second problem is the little tabs on the side of the case break off and the top part does not sit flush with the bottom after that happens. I bought the black version this time to see if the camera works correctly with the flash on.

I think so? There's nobody in CS for me to ask but since there's no notice and it doesn't require a signature, I think you're good to go.

showcaller wrote:For $19.95 it is too good to pass up. Though I have never run my battery all the way down on my iPhone 4 I have come close enough times to make this worthwhile. I do wonder how easy it is to put on and take off if I want to use it discriminately or does it make more sense in all likelihood to just leave it on an forget about it. I am assuming it only charges when connected to the phone so to have it standing by charged probably isn't an option unless of course it holds a charge for awhile. (Am I over thinking this?)

So in my car the headphone cable I use is too big to fit through the case opening for it. When I get into my car I just pop the top part off (easily slides on or off) and plug the cord in. As for the bottom part with the 30 pin connector, it slides on or off easily as well. When you initially put the phone in, or plug the micro USB in, it begins charging the phone. You can either let it charge or hold the power button on the back for 2 seconds and it will stop and just charge the case battery. Overall it is very easy to take in and out.

Tesseract wrote:alas, no dock cable passthrough though which means I’d have to take it out of this case everytime I got into the car to play through the stereo. So it’s a no go this time.

The micro USB cable works for charging and data transfer. I've ditched the annoying 30 pin in my car and on my computer and use the micro USB.

Let's see the quality impulse buys!

Does Woot still track the number of items sold? I cannot seem to find that number in the new website and I am curious how popular this item was now that it is sold out, which in a way does help me determine the value of future deals...

Go to the first page of the discussion, on WootBot's post, the last line in the first section, before the graphs on purchases, is called Woots sold.
I think that's what you were looking for.

It's still the Iphone 5 because the 4S was not a new phone just a slight upgrade to the 4 (added Siri) while the Iphone 5 is being redone.

I wonder if they make this in a model that supports a grain of rice jammed into one side of the charging port. The good news is my iphone still works after taking a plunge...the bad news is it's now full of plain dry rice.

Got it Saturday (Jul 7) and immediately charged 'er up. It looks and feels good (I like the matte finish) but after a day or two of using it with the case battery 'off,' it looks as though the iPhone battery is draining a little faster than normal. My usual habit is to leave the phone on standby so there's always some drop, but this seems (I say 'seems' at this point) to be dropping faster with the phone in the case. Is it my imagination (loaded question) or has anyone else had this experience?

Love the feel, the fit, and so far, the battery life extension. The only complaint is that it immediately starts charging when I seat it in the case. Each time I seat it in, I have to hold down the button on the back to stop it from providing a charge. I have a Mophie and it only charges when the switch is on. I wish the default setting was to not charge... Anyone have a workaround?

Loving this so far. Now I have two very similar models, this and an xpal.

This is a MUCH smarter design than the xpal (indicator LEDs on the back of the case, so they don't drive you nuts while charging like the xpal's LEDs).

This has a slightly nicer feel, but feels less cushy (a little less protective if I drop the phone).

Well, after 7 weeks of owning this case, it no longer works. It no longer takes a charge. Wondering if anyone else is having the same problem.

Sorry to hear about the problems. Remember this has a 1-year warranty through uNu so be sure to contact them.
