I never actually tried one of these but it was in my list of voip phone systems when I was doing my research before I purchased a set up.
this one seemed cool with all the goodies but i didn't want to spend a whole lot. i decided to try net talk duo 1st. the rest seemed minnow as could be so i narrowed it down to ooma and Net Talk.
I picked the net talk to try 1st because it was only 49 bucks and the first year was included. I do not know what the service would be like if I didnt have a great connection but i am so glad I tried this 1st, it's 29 bucks a year and I have had no problems with it at all, it works great.
here is the only changes I have experienced, 1. the phone company is GONE and i never have to pay them again - that saved me 45.00 a month.
2. sometimes when I make a local call I have to dial the area code like it was long distance or it will ring busy.
3. my ID caller works all the time now, with my phone co it would not work 100% of the time. oh yeah, and it is free.
4. People i know actually call me and leave messages cause they know I can call them back, the 45.00 a month I used to pay did not include free long distance.
5. I can take net talk anywhere and its the size of a granola bar.. LOl i have the same phone number forever and i never get dumb calls from people that do not know me.
I get perfect reception. my connection is awesome and I pay 40.00 a month for it, 40 Megs down and between 19 and 27megs up. from century link.
I do not know how the customer service is for net talk because I have never had a problem with it, using now for almost 1 year. in October I have to send them 29.00 and they take pay pal. sweet deal.
No monthly bill, not even taxes. and i set it up myself in less than 20 minutes, i can check messages online if I want. :O)
I have 5 cordless phones and a base phone in the office, my 5th phone is out in my work shed 200 feet away from the base, works perfect, all the phones ring just like a reg phone.
