These are ok, not the best, not the worst I have used.

The battery seems to die pretty quickly, it might just be me, but I have to keep the charger at my desk and I cannot use them to listen to music for a full work day, maybe about 5 hours or so of straight playing.

Another thing to note, if you have long hair (longer than shoulder length) like me these do not sit comfortably under your hair, unless it is high up off your neck. They have to be worn over your hair which for me, defeats the purpose of "around the back of the neck" headphones.

But I prefer my bluetooth headset that surrounds the ear. Talk abbout comfortable and great bass...

I used to own a set of wireless headphones that I used a lot, until I dropped them and they stopped working! I paid a lot more for them and didn't like that they were so big. Maybe I should have looked to see if they were smaller/cheaper these days ... oh well.

I bought a pair of these headphones from Best Buy for $80 and I have to say I'm pretty disappointed. I wanted a pair of bluetooth headphones for walking between classes on campus. Great idea, doesn't quite cut it.

First off, they are somewhat small and have very little ability to bend and mold to your head. The sides of the headphones tend to press against your head in this case, so wearing them for about 15 minutes could become annoying and painful.

Also, the rubber buds they come with aren't quite enough to protect your ears from the amount of pressure that the headphones place inside your ear.

Finally, I use a Droid X to play my music and maybe it's just my phone, but from time to time the headphones would skip and I would lose connection momentarily. This would happen more often than a lightly scratched CD would skip in a CD player.

Bottomline, they're now refurbished and only $25 for a reason. I'd give these headphones a 2/5.

I'm pretty sure this is my first ever comment here at woot! Just because I'm so disappointed by these.

I've had a pair for a bit over a year. They're far from sweatproof. They are uncomfortable as they squeeze my (7-5/8 hat size) head.

Mine actually quit working because I used them to run in after just a dozen or so uses. First some of the buttons quit working, then even the power button wouldn't turn them off! They sat on my table for months & months and dried out and work again, but still fit poorly with my sunglasses and hurt to wear within 30 minutes.

I actually had a flash thought that I could buy a second set for the next time mine conk out, but realized I should pay for something good, instead...

west3man wrote:I got two or three of these the last time they were offered and I've not been disappointed.

It's true that they can put the squeeze on your head if you have a large enough head AND wear them for too long without a break, but they come in very handy for my big skull - especially in the fitness room.

Often people don't even realize that I'm wearing them, so don't worry much about the dork factor.

Thanks for the tip. Went with LG HBS-700 for $39.99 instead.

In response to those who have good things to say the sound quality of these headphones: Um, no. They're actually pretty terrible.

And I'm not the only one with this opinion; PC Magazine's reviewer said that "[t]he S10-HD is the worst sounding stereo headset I've tested in some time." http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2372054,00.asp

I bought these from Walmart a year ago. They are terrible! The lack of adjustment means if you don't have a skinny head (like the model on the box illustration) DON'T BUY THESE! They will hurt your ears - like when you lay with your head propped on your hand for too long. I returned them for a refund.

I ended up going with the LG HBS-700 for $40 from newegg.com - sweatproof, convenient controls, sounds great to both me and the caller, and I can use them in bed without having the headset pushing on my ears. And unlike the S-10, the LG HBS-700's are legal to use while driving. Just use one earplug! I've had this for almost a year and it's stood up to 4-days-a-week at the gym, 7-nights a week in bed, and 5-days a week in the car. I had my worries that the cords would break, but (knock on wood) so far they're still working great.

I have a set of these (not from woot) that I've used for years... they do get a bit uncomfortable after a while if you have glasses, but otherwise they are nice. Only real issue I've had is they pick up a LOT of ambient noise, hard to talk on them in anything but a quiet room.

spyketea

quality posts: 1 Private Messages spyketea

I've had a set of these for 6 months now and they are great. The range in an open room such as a gym is actually a bit further than advertised, the sync is quick and easy, the controls are easy to use, and the charge lasts a long time as long as you follow the instructions for first time charging. I've used these in the gym 6 days a week every week for lifting and cardio without any problems. They come with several sets of ear pieces so you can adjust it to your ear size easily. The only time I have to adjust them is when I do bench press, they stick a little ways off the back of my head so I adjust the back to sit at the base of my skull instead. I only use these for listening to music so I can't give input on the phone call reliability. I used these on a USN ship and I had to remove them while transiting because they blocked enough sound to make the 1MC hard to hear even with the music off. Good enough product I bought a second set during this woot even though my current ones still work.

I'd stay away from these.

The motorola s9's are much better than these. These are the s-10's and they went backwards with these. Quality is so-so.

I am always looking to purchase the s9's, been using the s9's for a few years now.

I agree, I had a S9 for a while and when it died i bought the S10, not as impressed... but still, works for listening to music and the odd phone call.. don't run or work out with them, just around the yard and stuff...

I think the fit is the hardest part, I can see how if you don't have the right shaped head it wouldn't work well.

I bought a pair of these the last time they were available and was not thrilled. I primarily use them at work with a MacBook Pro and they often confuse the bluetooth settings for when to receive audio output. Also, I've noticed a slight audio lag when I'm watching videos. They were totally unusable for a video conference.

Also, I previously used a pair of standard earbuds and these do cause some pain in my ears after wearing them for more than 30 minutes by comparison.

I won't say the sound is great on these. They're earbuds. No earbuds has great sound, period. I have a nicer set of bluetooth headphones (sony bt-50 i think) that I use for normal use. These are perfect for the gym, mowing ,etc. I don't know how people break them, mine have been soaked repeatly from sweat without issues. They feel great for the 1-2 hours max that I wear them. Yes the sound isn't the best, but neither is those white earbuds with a wire going down to your pocket. Screw wires. Give me these anyday.

earbuds has the potential to have more accurate sound than speakers and over the ear (open air or sealed) headphones. It does not have to worry about sound modification by the external ear. Plus, having the driver much closer to the eardrum and directing the sound directly into the ear canal means its driver does not have to have to have extremely high excursion capability.

There are alot of reference earbuds out there by Shure, Ultimate Ear, Altec Lansing, that's used in studio/performance settings.

I used to work at Verizon Wireless where we sold these, and a lot of them got returned.

Firstly, these are horrendously uncomfortable for me, the plastic is not very flexible and it squeezes your head/ears painfully. this may not be an issue for everyone.

Be VERY CAREFUL sweating into them. I had a customer who went through four of these because he used them while doing roofing, and his sweat kept killing them.

Then again, $25 is a much better price than the $99 Verizon charges.

I have these headphones and love them. The sound quality is good and the battery life is long. I use them all the time at the gym and while running. No complaints at all. That said I haven't used them for the telephone calling, so not sure on their quality there.

CeruleanDragon

I picked up a pair of Saitek BT headphones that were *just* like this pair. I'm sure this pair suffers the same problems: lack of adjustability and BlueTooth suckness. BT is great for data transfer and close-range audio, like earpieces for cell phones. If you never plan to go more than 15-20 feet and have visible line of site to the transmitter with these, then they'll probably be great. But my biggest complaint is the size. If they fit you perfectly, awesome, but if your head is just a little too big or a little too small, you're going to hate them for wearing for long periods, just too uncomfortable. If you want something you can walk around your pad with, or just plain go to the kitchen while continuing to hear without having static explode into your ears, don't get a BlueTooth device, find a RF-based unit.

dylbrticus

quality posts: 1 Private Messages dylbrticus

Those of you with large heads: BEWARE!

They seem to be a good fit on small heads, but they don't stretch enough for people with a large melon, resulting in poor sound quality and major discomfort.

I love these headphones so much. Of course theyre tight, theyre for working out. I wear them when i practice capoeira, so im upside down a lot and they stay on fine. Sweats not been an issue so far, battery life is fine as long as you charge them once in a while and i love the buttons.

However the rubber ear covers on mine fell off and my woot order from last time didnt include extras. I dont know where to find new ones. Moto online support couldnt help me and most of the ones on amazon that say theyre compatible are not according to the reviews, and the others dont have reviews. If anyone knows where to find replacements, please let me know.

I found the sound quality lacking, on par with apple buds. The fixed earbud position did not offer a good seal in my ears, very uncomfortable - was constantly aware I was wearing them... At list ($99) they were not a good choice for extended use (8hrs) while working...
