1 deal/day. A rather wild and vibrant community. Fairly regular Suzanne Somers Ab-Tilt and often a desk puck. and the deals usually ran out after a few hours.

I miss that woot.

I miss that Woot, too. Even with all the server crashes.

Well, another day has passed and I didn't use algebra once.

Remember when eBay was like a big garage sale? Remember when Amazon was a book store? Remember pets.com? Remember when everyone was on IRC? Remember Usenet? Rememer BBSs? Remember when everything was text-based and if you wanted to see a picture you had to download it before you knew what it looked like?

I can vaguely remember it. I used to stay up every day to see what crazy, new item they had to sell on Woot at midnight. Now, I'm lucky if I remember to ever check it once in a day or two or three.

Sure, there are some decent deals out there but it seems like every time I log on to check out what Woot! has to offer for the day it's one, two, three hundred plus. At the time of this writing we're looking at six to nine hundred. From the looks of it, Sellout! is now where all the quirky stuff that used to be front and center on Woot! goes.

And the site, it's great but not. Sometimes it's almost too much going on, so many offers, so many new sections to check out.

When you take a moment and just look at everything offered here, it's a bittersweet. Progress is great and expected, it's just sometimes hard to get used to.

Well I did have a blast from the past today.
The woot was sold out when I woke up.

Remember needing to be here at woot hour, because it might be gone by morning?

I admit that it's sad to see the real monkeys gone, replaced by the pretend monkeys.

Woot was where I first encountered the lolcat (during a woot off), and icanhazcheezburger (man, that's a site that's REALLY changed, and not for the better). I miss the old woot, but then, I miss the old me, too.

I wonder what's next? I think I'll make a prediction, but not here. I can actually guess it, though.

I do miss Woot things that I just had to have, because they were so goofy. I bought three of the ugliest mouse/mousepad combos I've ever seen. The mouse had fake tacky jewels that lit up when you plugged it into usb. I gave all three of them as gifts, to deserving people.

I miss goofy stuff.

I almost forgot. I really miss Moofi. It used to be fun, and random, and have some of the strange things that Woot central had quit showing up with. There was a "Flash Friday" and then a "Flash Friday on Monday" and both of them were like the woot-offs of old. Now? It's just Woot the 2nd.

It doesn't even have the upside down title anymore. I miss Woot a lot.
