Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

I'm in the "They issued me one, told me to wear it, and I keep it in my wallet" category.

How about mine is required under the Code of Federal Regulations?

I think I had one at my last job but no one wore them
I had a job before that where I had to wear one
I don't think it's a big deal

That's me as well. I use it to get in the door, then put it away.

Badge. Not a "Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to get out of the car" type of badge, just a swiper so's I can get into the building. Also has my name and photo so people know I belong there.

^^more or less this, just for key carded security access. But most ppl just use to get into the building....I have to go into other special areas.

I have a nameplate on my desk, not anything I carry or wear on my person.

Me three. There should be a poll option for "No, I don't wear one, even though I'm supposed to."

I used to have an electronic one that I kept in my wallet. When I needed to get into a door, I stuck my butt at the sensor. Always good for a laugh.

We all have to wear badges. They allow us in restricted areas and they have barcodes for the time machine (the pay kind, not the cool-go-to-the-future kind). Mine is from 2005 when I was pregnant and had bright red cheeks from the cold. I lost it recently and when they replaced it, they had somehow enlarged my head to take up the entire picture "window" on the card. It's AWESOME! I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't have to wear something like that where it can be clearly seen all day long. I bet NOBODY laughs at you nearly as much as they laugh at me.

Yup, mine sits in my desk.. we're supposed to 'declare' who we work for, but I'm sort of ashamed bc our co kinda has a bad rep around here, so I do not declare! My super doesn't even wear hers. Plus my pic is baaaad. I think I had a seizure when the flash went off

Well it's no so much a "nametag" as it is a "badge"....

I saw the same people day after day for years when I worked.
Then the company gave us name tags.
I finally knew the name of all those people!

WE LURV YOU TOO! Dork!!!

Its funny, I didn't even think about it until I read the comments: I have a PIV card on a lanyard around my neck, but don't think of it as a nametag. You can't actually read the name on it, so... but I guess I should change my entry from "nope" to "badged."

i actually do have a job like that, but we dont wear tags. I dunno why.

Badge - for access and to show I belong. I too have the original pic from when I started at the company, which happens to be half decent thank goodness. Other ppl w/40+ yrs are hilarious. At my previous job my original pic was one of the best pics of me EVER (I'm NOT photogenic) so when they redid badges and pics, I requested to keep my original pic and they obliged.

forever fighting the urge to buy something just because it is cheap and cool...wait, it's cheap and cool, let me click that big yellow button!

Security access card here, that just happens to have my name and pic on it in case I forget who I am or what I look like. We have access points all over the building and a swipe is needed to get back into the suite after going to the break room or restroom on my floor.
