I ordered a pair of sandals (The Teva Mush II mens for $12, great deal!) on Friday. However, I moved just a week ago, so my Woot account was still set to ship to my old address. Realizing this, I immediately cancelled my order and reordered with my new address. Apparently that is not what I should have done, as I received the mildly passive-aggressive email linked above from Woot this morning.
Now don't get me wrong; I understand (now) that some people might have previously tried to use this glitch in the Woot system to their advantage, and that is how Woot perceived my actions. But was the tone in this email really necessary? Sure, charge me the $5 that I thought I had paid, but is it too much to ask for a little professionalism in the email notifying me of an error?
I miss when Woot seemed friendly and personal. So, Woot, here's what I ask: I don't want any coupons, or free stuff. Just, "Hey man, we're sorry that we thought you were a bad guy; we cool?"
And I'll say, "Sure, Woot. We cool."
Wow, that email is seriously douchey. But that seems par for the course for the 'new woot.'
