I signed up on April 13, 2006

My first purchase was a Pioneer DVD Recorder and VCR Combo on 4/14/2006. It was horribly difficult to figure out and I ended up giving it my brother. He gave up on it too. I finally threw it out a few years later.

After lurking around in the shadows for a looong time I finally enrolled on Friday, March 23, 2007.

It was a year later on March 27, 2008 that I popped my Wooting cherry and did my part to move a Woot-off along with the purchase of (what else?) a Roomba.

Loved it, hated the stupid circle dance plus buying batteries and side brushes. But I will say that Roomba gave it's life dutifully in the line of service trying to carry out a cleaning of the rec room. Unfortunately the floor was covered by 4" of water due to last year's hurricane Irene.

It bravely marched on through the rising tide until the circuits got soaked.

I missed the Bag too by 4 minutes because I was watching the Woot stream. I keep clicking the "Place Your Order" button every 8 minutes or so though..just in case. Mmm..desperate optimism.

SHARING TIME - PART 2

I've been reading all of your posts about your start dates and first purchases.

Let's kick it up a notch now.

What's the weirdest thing you think we've sold?

What's the write-up that sticks in your mind as the weirdest, funniest, fondest, or the one you can't believe they actually published.

The weirdest thing for me was the Condoms. I had only been working official for Woot for a few months (rather than as a volunteer mod). That was one of those moments when you pour yourself a glass of wine and settle back to enjoy the thread because there's nothing you can do with the direction of the comments.

The write-up that still gives me a chuckle is from the Jamba Juice Smoothie Maker. The teaser, "Think of it more as a toy. A toy with a whirring blade.", still makes me giggle.

Don't worry if you can't find the link. We've got a of great community members with killer memories to help out.
