Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

How can JAWS not be on the list. If there was ever a film that has caused that kind of fear in everyone, it should be #1. I don't know about you but when I get in the ocean the whole time I'm thinking about JAWS. The Orca one didn't have any sequels but it was good 'cuz the whale wins!!

Pff, those are all just gory hack-n-slashers, with "gore" more often than not looking really fake. I don't consider those types of movies "horror." Or even very scary for that matter.

I really wanted to say Alien, but are they all horror movies? most people would classify them as Sci-fi. I'll have to go with Frankenstein.

You left off The Exorcist!
The original release had subliminals (same with Jaws) which really were a MF. Got scared and stayed scarred. But then again you have to be really old to remember this.

28 Days Later. A lot of people think there were only 2 films in this franchise, but the first one starred Sandra Bullock and was released in 2000. Here's hoping for a "24 Months Later".

I was going to say the same thing about Friday the 13th it is not horror it is a slasher movie. But I do think Holloween at least the first one was a true horror movie.

by far the scariest movie ever made is 'Jesus Camp'. it's a documentary and no one could ever make up fiction that's scarier than real life.

the 'greatest horror movie franchise' is Leprechaun. #4 was Leprechaun In Space. #5 was Leprechaun In The Hood. #6 was Leprechaun Back 2 Tha Hood.

seriously, what's greater than that?
