Bought a pair of these last time around and absolutely LOVE them. Have a set of Cortexes that are a little more bassy and louder using the same devices but weigh almost twice as much and aren't half as comfortable. For the price these things are absolutely fantastic.

Yes you can, the controls on the cord probably won't work though. But its a universal cord so can just get a different one if it bugs you but it will work on some things, like my HTC G2 the middle button will pause songs...volume buttons don't work but meh.

Over the years, I'd bought my kids multiple sets of cheap earbuds that inevitably became lost or broken. Now each kid has these, and they're wearing them constantly. Clearly they're very comfortable and definitely seem durable.

The only downside is that now all my conversations with my kids start out like "Hey, Ruby. Ruby. RUBY!!...."

Sound is fine. I have a couple pairs of Etymotic IEMs that definitely sound better, but they're finicky--you have to continually be replacing the filters and eartips on them, and cleaning them (you are sticking them in your ear!). At home these are great.

One thing about them, the cord is the same rubbery soft-touch material as the rest of the phones--Apple could have designed these. But it's not the best material for headphone cords. It catches easily and cord microphonics are an issue.

I sprung for a $20 3-button cord from V-Moda. Its grey color isn't too out-of-place with the grey and blue Sonics (they also make black and a grey/black combo cord), and its woven Kevlar-reinforced jacket is really a plus. The plug fits without modification and the Apple standard plug elements and buttons all work as they should. As a bonus, the V-Moda cable is not only quieter and less snaggy than the Incase cables, but is longer too, so on those occasions where you need a little extra length this gives it to you.

I don't listen at exceptionally loud levels--if my cans distort I back it off. These allow me to listen louder than I normally do without distortion.

You should know this is an Apple device. You will get sound out of Android or Windows devices, but the buttons on the remote will not do anything with those products. The design on this thing should be the major tipoff--Incase is channeling the design team at Apple here.

I like Apple mobile products. They sound good, look good and work right. But their headphones just suck. I use the Ety HF3 with Shure black olive tips when I'm outside. They are the ultimate jogging/biking phones when paired with the last-gen no-buttons iPod Shuffle. But indoors where comfort includes the ability to take them off and put them on again without undue wear and tear, as well as a more casual fit, these are some good cans.

I used to have a set of Sennheiser HD650s, which a sold a few years ago because they required a separate headphone amp just to sound right. Yes, when I did that they sounded awesome, but portable headphone amps make for a complicated contraption to lug around, and home headphone amps mean you will be listening in pretty much only one location too.

These will benefit from a separate amp but it's not required--they are sensitive enough for a standard ipod/iphone to drive properly by themselves, which is a good achievement for a large circumaural headphone.

I don't think you'll find a pair of cans out there with Apple 3 button remote for 50 bucks that can outdo these. At their list price they've got competition, and at their street price there are still some worthy competitors in design and performance.

But for 50 bucks? Come on. Get these while you can.

Surprised that the cords are not more of an issue here.

They are REALLY SHORT, to the point of being unusable.

I have to buy an extension from Microcenter as Incase does not sell them.

How could this have been a $200 headphone with cords that are impractical.

On the lighter side...they do sound great!

You probably tried but...did you swap cables to see if it made a difference. Mine came with 2 sets of cables.

Also, if you are plugging them into something that normally does not have a mic (MP3 player, CD player, etc.), then you may need an adapter.

For example...at my house, I have an extender cable going from my home stereo over to the couch...so I can listen to TV etc. without bothering folks. When I plug these headphones into that cable, sound is all messed up. I found an adapter (basically a newer extender) and plugged that into the current extender cable and then the headphones into it. Everything works just fine now.

All of this has to do with the jack on any set of headphones with a built in Mic.

Just thought I would throw it out there. Good luck.

Honestly, Each night I have been waiting for these to return since I last bought them at 60 something dollars.
I hunted these down on ebay, imagining the primer grey was a bit darker making it worth the 85 bucks, but never committed.
This time I bought three pair. seriously. Albeit late, a perfect graduation gift.

One thing I forgot to mention is the sheer volume of material used in the packaging.
Just as with the iPhone there is an amazing box with multiple compartments. Once the device is out of the box though, what do you do with this complex box? You feel bad to throw it out but who has space to keep it. And if you do it may become moldy. So. In a nutshell 50 bucks is a great price for these headphones and... you might get some money back for recycling the cardboard.

Closed. Drivers are kinda tricky. I have neodymium ones that differ wildly in frequency response range. It all depends on the engineering I suppose.

I'm surprised no one had pointed out yet, but if you are a bass head, these will sorely disappoint you. Think of this as the anti-Beats. Great mids and highs, adequate lows (as opposed to emphasizing lows).

In other words, great for country, most rock, classical, but not so great for hip hop, r&b, metal, and techno.

Addendum: For once, a pair of fashion headphones also happen to sound nice. Despite the shortcoming with lows, $50 are a tremendous value.

Rats! I use a cheap gaming headset to record narration for my Let's Play videos for YouTube, and was hoping the inline microphone on the Incase headphones would work for that purpose with my Windows desktop PC.

These are great for work, most comfortable I've used for all day wear that feel fine over glasses and pierced ears. I use them with a USB sound card and cord extension. They are not noise cancelling, but the radio shows i listen to help with giving me much better better background noise. Helps with softening the noise of my boss nattering on and on and on

If you buy these headphones with intent of selling them on eBay, thinking you can make some momey, forget about it. Incase wasn't able to sell these great headphones for &149.99. So they have been clearing them out on Woot and Social Living. This is the 3rd time it's been on Woot. Started with $79.99, then $59.99, and now $49.99. At least 20,000 were sold this way, and hundreds of greedy buyers attempted to sell on eBay for $89 and higher. But being No buyers. Check yourself on eBay. Ha ha.

I bought 2 pair of these when they were offered for $60 last month and they've been the best headphones/headset I've ever owned. Solid but comfortable construction, great audio, the inline mic is clear and responsive. Well worth the price.

I bought this adapter to use it with my PC as well (inline controls don't work when using the adapter, but that's to be expected)

Has anyone tried using these with behind-the-ear hearing-aids? I would like to buy a set of these for my Dad, but am concerned they won't work with the hearing-aids - usually things near his ears cause the hearing-aids to feedback.

In for one I wear headphones all day at work, and my ear buds are starting to get annoying. These should be perfect!

Trying to buy but when I click on buy it nothing happens????

I got these last time they were up. They are cheaper this time around.

My observations:

- These have a really cool carrying bag.
- The option to unplug the cable from the actual headphones is nice. Especially since I wear them all day at work and rather than taking the headphones off to walk around the office, I just put them around my neck and unplug them.
- They are by far the most comfortable headphones I have ever worn and I wear glasses so I should know.
- They have really excellent sound; I should not that some people have noticed a lack of low end sound with these, I'd have to agree that although they're not tinny, they are not low end bassy cans.
- They are stylish, I get compliments all the time at work.

I bought these last woot round and after a month one side of the earphones stopped working. For a high dollar headphone, this set is the worse. pass on this one, trust me.

Bought em for $75 from Woot a while back. I wear them all the time, I have them on right now. Fit great, sound great.

This review compares the Sonic to my first headphone love, the Sony MDR-V6. I was about the pick up another pair of the MDR-V6 that I broke years ago, but went with this Woot instead because of the great price.

I owned and returned a pair of Bose OE2i cans earlier this year. Really wasn't impressed with them - muddy and weak bass, and highs sounded very tinny. They also weren't very comfortable on my head; and their over-molded cable connector would constantly jab me in the neck if I was laying down while wearing them. They did fold up nicely, I'll give them that much.

I tried on the Sonics in store a while ago, and found them to be exceptionally comfortable compared to the Bose, and the cups fit my ears nicely - these were larger and more elongated than Bose. They also didn't squeeze my head as much as Bose. They sounded pretty sweet as well...granted, I didn't give them a thorough testing, but on first impression (with my music...mainly rock, blues, funk, r&b and jazz) they did sound sweet. I concur with some of the other posts here...they are not #1 for those of you who want a sick thumpy thump bass response, but they are more than decent cans for those of you who can live without that. Especially at this price...I ordered 3, so 2 people are gonna be getting nice gifts from me this xmas! I'll open mine a bit earlier, when Santa Woot shows up with my order! :-)

try using a different browser. I don't know if that's the problem but sometimes it works for me. Or clearing cookies.
