The 60Hz refresh isn't as bad as the 8ms response time...that's terrible unless you like blurring on action scenes and fast paced sports, etc.

Remote has a mind of it's own too (sometimes turns off when I hit the increase volume button... that's just weird).

Lastly, turning on the TV, you get a Vizio splash screen that hangs for 6 seconds (just like when you boot up your PC and see the Dell logo, for example). I don't need a Vizio ad, I just want to watch TV.

I got what I paid for, a cheap tv. I like my other TV, a 32" Samsung from 2007, much much better. Will never buy another Vizio.

I have the same tv and what you need to do to get the sound synced is turn off their true volume options ( there are 2 of them) under sound preferences... This will fix all of the sound issues.. It worked for me

I own a Vizio 42" smart TV and I love it, but this isn't such a great deal. You can get the same TV from Sams Club for the same price and it's brand spanking New. Just figured you wooters might like to know.

Alas, the website keeps getting worse! I long for the days of olde - a jocular product description, a large yellow button and a left margin. Is there any way to get out of "beta" mode?

I think you should complete the transformation by changing the name to "woot?" - or maybe "Laptops, Monitors and Dyson!" - although that last sound more like a law firm. Then again, maybe you can start selling pharmaceutical class action litigation - there is a much larger variety of that than of products on your website.

My apologies to non-USA Wooters who are not exposed to our thousands of ridiculous advertisements which I can now watch in 1080P resolution in every room in my house while cleaning up with one of my four Dyson sweepers...

Two days too late, Woot. Best Buy and Target just had their "Black Friday in July" sales and I had been waiting for a cheap-ish TV for the basement. Both of the aforementioned stores had 46" LCDs (non-refurb) around $409. If this Vizeo had been in the mix, I probably wouldn't have gotten off my arse and gone to BB, where I happily snatched up a 50" Insignia LCD for $499.

Does anybody have the Sceptre brand of TVs that Walmart sells. I could essentially get the Sceptre equivalent of this Vizio for 350 on Walmart. And it would be new.

Is the quality of Sceptre noticeably worse that that of Vizio? I'd appreciate any advice.

For that matter, Walmart has pretty cheap Sanyos and Westinghouses also. Is Vizio really going to give me a better experience then these bargain basement options?

I've had a Sceptre 21" LCD Monitor (not TV, sorry) for going on 9 years, and never had a single problem with the monitor itself (had a derpy power cord, but that was a 2$ replacement). As far as quality... I'm no videophile, but it looked pretty much the same as my HP, Samsung, etc screens.

I almost purchased the TV on Woot last weekend, but it sold out before I got the chance. This looks like it may actually be the better television though, for the money. Any real reason I shouldn't get this? The price sure seems right. The only thing that kind of turns me off is the "refurbished" status. Has anyone else purchased a refurb Vizio? What should I expect?

Not really that good of a deal. You can get it a few bucks cheaper at other places like buy.com or ebay (from reputable sellers).

I see some good deals on ebay, but is there any reason I would want to go with Woot instead of one of those deals? They're both refurbished, but would one be better over the other if there were issues with the TV?

Yeah, tried that twice with Vizio support. Still no luck. They said I'll have to get it repaired since it's out of warranty. I must have just got a lemon.

Even if it did work for me, kind of bad you have to disable the selling point features to get it to work properly.

This included free shipping. PLUS from CostCo you get automatic 2 year warranty and if you use AMEX = add another year = 3 year FULL warranty.
Got it yesterday and it is great.

Actually even if you use your AMEX you still only have 2 years. AMEX and Costco add 1 year to the existing manufacture warranty. So you could have your choice of going through Costco or Amex, but it's still only two years total.

Agree. I'd like to see more "ThinkGeek" style of gadgets on Tech.woot.

Or maybe even do a geek.woot. That would be awesome. After all, the little frame to the right of the main page is lopsided with the addition of Tech.woot so there's room for another. :-)

If your parents have a Costco account they can probably figure out a way to add you to the account for free.

Note that this does not come with a Vizio 90 day warranty, only a woot limited warranty which tells me that this is not officially refurbished by vizio.

I would hold off on this one. The last tv i got off woot with their limited warranty, ended up costing me $75 out of pocket to send back for my refund.

My Visio, like yours, did not have the voice synced with the picture when I purchased it. However, But I discovered in one of the menus, there is a setup menue which allows you to change the voice/picture sync, which I did, and in 4 years of service I have never had another problem with voice sync.

I have had one for more than 4 years now, replacing a projection HiDef that bit the dust a week after the warrenty went out. It does the job, and the picture is great. You should buy a sound bar, unless you have an audio system already, but otherwise, the Visio has been very good. They had a bad reputation when they sold plasma tv's, but are good with lcd's.

NOT RECOMMENDED! I bought this TV one of the last times it was on Woot at the end of June. It failed the day after I received it. Paid $71 to ship it to Purrfect Refurbs . The only good news is that when the Square Trade warranty kicks in, if it breaks down again, they will send someone to fix it.
