I agree. I look forward to the Woot Offs for the variety, speed, and most of all, the comments. I need a laugh every now and then.

I have to ask. Does anyone here actually like the new website? I rarely visit anymore because the page is so busy. It's hard to focus on the one woot product I want to look at with all the other stuff on the screen. This will prob be my last time this site. It's been a while as it is....I miss it but definitely not like this.

I still prefer the old layout, same reason, this just seems way too cluttered. And don't bother trying to check it on a mobile device. There's so much crap everywhere now it's hard to scroll and move around without accidentally clicking a link/ad. I used to check woot every single day, now I sometimes miss a day. The site is just too annoying to use. Hope I get used to it, if not, meh

We'll miss you... (No we won't!)

Everyone complains when something they like changes. Stick around long enough and you'll get used to it. I did. I particularly like the $5 shipping on same-day concept combined with the multitude of purchase options. Why else would I have bought so much useless crap at the last wootoff.

For the most part, positive reviews! Let's hear it for a non-roomba hard-floor cleaner!

I have owned three of these (mostly because I caught my two year old standing on them thinking it was a weight scale)... Former Roomba owner (many versions). If you have wooden floors it is a must have. Buy the swiffers at costco. I run it every morning when I make my coffee and hardly ever vacuum. Three dogs and a cart, 4,000 swft of hard wood floors.

First review ever on woot. Love this thing (we have the new black ones).

This is a good buy. I just recently priced this and even with Bed Bath and Beyond's 20% off coupon, woot still wins.

I'm with you. I sent in feed back suggesting that if they wanted some central navigation page, make that NOT the front page. The front page of plain ol woot.com should be the item, the FULL description, and links at the bottom or side to the other woot sites.

The new front page should be parked at something like Woot.com/navi or something.

[edit] Let me add - I'm *not* with you on leaving I hope they will move back towards a cleaner presentation, but leaving the site because the layout isn't quite right is much akin to saying I'll move to Canada if I don't agree with the results of an election. No offense, Canada. Love your moose. And hockey.

Now y'all know there is not an infinite supply of Brigade of Campers#39;s and they just whipped them out the other day.

As for this robot, I'm really on the fence. I have a couple of Roomba's which need new batteries. Do I spend more and try a new technology or spend half the money for new batteries which may last only a year? We are almost entirely hard floors, and I'm very tempted by the little swiffer cloth.

I am in for one. Looked at a lot of reviews, prices, etc., and this is the best offer. Had a Roomba once but it kept getting stuck in spots. Like that it can also mop. My dogs should enjoy it, at least for a while.

Does it suck that there were no backpacks of crocodiles? Yes. That is the highlight of every woot-off. But I'm not mad about that. Lord knows I wouldn't have had a chance at one anyways. What we should be mad about is the insane number of TVs, headphones, and speakers. Woot now takes the MSRP and posts it as the original price... then sells it for the close to the same price as everyone else (although cheaper than the MSRP). What happened to the deals Woot?

drunkenalien wrote:Ok, everyone get your woot-off complaints out, so you can hurry up and tell me all about this Mint hard floor cleaner.

I *love* my Mint. We've had one for a couple years. It's super quiet (especially after listening to Roomba grind around my house), you just use the swiffer pads that are available at Costco (cheap!) and turn 'er loose.

About 11 months into a 12 month warranty, my first Mint started acting weird - it wouldn't go forward. It kept thinking it was stuck on something. I am convinced this is my fault because I moved it while it was running (instead of stopping it and then moving it like a normal, patient person would). Their customer service was top notch - immediately sent me a new Mint with a new 12 month warranty.

The only negatives I can really think of - 1) The "mopping" cycle doesn't ever seem to finish with the mopping pad (Swiffer or otherwise) still being damp enough to do any good, but that might be more a product of the pads I use than the Mint's issue and 2) There's not really any way to keep it to one room. It stops at thresholds (...usually) but if you have a wide expanse of tile that goes throughout your house (like I do now at our new home), I'm not really sure how you'd keep Mint contained. I have heard the GPS doesn't accomodate multiple rooms (in one go) but have not noticed any problems with this myself.

At sweeping, it does an ok job, but once the pad gets dirty, it won't do much. I opted for disposable ones so that they pick up everything, but they need to be changed 2-3 times every time you want to use it, so it is a pain.

For what it's worth, I can clean an entire large room with one Swiffer pad without problems (sometimes more than one room if the rooms are small). I hated the Roomba, which I see in your earlier post that you prefer

There are some things about the redesign that I do like...The nav bar across the top with quick "mouse-over" thumbnails...the $5 All You Can Ship.
The main page of each portal though is just obnoxious to me. I've tried to give it a fair shake but it's definitely not growing on me. It just looks like the internet threw up all over my Woot! page.
Totally agree with the person who finds mobile browsing to be a chore. I don't bother to even try on my phone anymore. As "mobile" is the wave of the future I'm not sure how that's going to play out for my beloved Woot! but it's not looking good...literally...I mean...it looks bad...both figuratively and literally...I mean...OH NEVERMIND

I absolutely LOVE my Mint cleaner. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats, and the Mint cleaner manages to handle all the stray hair on the couple of hard floors that we have.

I should say that I have the Mint+ Model (The Black One), and only got it because I got such an amazing deal on it. ($5, NEW...gotta love the local Amish Store ).

Key about this device is that it is a "Sweeper" (think robotic swiffer sweeper) not a vacuum like the Roomba.

Now what would be really cool is a robotic floor cleaner with "OnStar"! That way it could challenge burglars and double as a medical call device when you've fallen and can't get up!

Oh ! Then you should buy Apple products. Like WOOT, They are " SO HIPSTER, competitively priced, one-off and innovative" No Lemmings on their customer list at all. AND Apple technology is OPEN format so you can do your own thing with other apps, OS, hardware, specs etc.

Between the multitudes of people claiming they will never return to this site (and no one believing them), and the people spamming off-topic crap and posting dumb memes, I can find very little community feedback about the product this thread is for.

I really just came here to get some thoughts and opinions on the Mint and aside from a posted video made by someone else, I have learned nothing. Thanks, guys.

wife got one of these about six months ago. Battery lasted about two hours, took forever to charge up, got lost going to one from another, got stuck under everything, and didn't even clean that well. Wouldn't recommend this from my experience.

This is how I feel. I understand youre more corporate now, and youre cross promoting your products...but this is just not what woot was about when it started. I used to come here first every day. Now, Im to the point where I only check if I have time.

The items have changed drastically over the years too. Entirely too many computers and tablets and vacuums now. This last wootoff didnt have a single item I could afford during the 50+ times I checked.

Im disappointed in current woot layout.

We picked one up a couple months ago at Bed, Bath & Beyond (around $200 I think), but returned it after a couple of uses.

I think it would work best with wide open floor plans. We have a small living room/dining room with enough furniture to give the Mint fits. Depending on the clearance of your couch, it may bounce off or may get stuck... ours was the latter.

It has enough good reviews to show that it works for some people... but wasn't the right fit for our house (especially to justify the $200).
