Good morning everybody! It has cooled down nicely. It is only 72. I think it was supposed to be 58 at our NC home. Daughter will cut the heat on!

Good afternoon. Just had a nap. Feeling good.

Well, another day has passed and I didn't use algebra once.

Played three games. I won once. Doesn't matter, it's more for something to do while socializing.

Went out to dinner early. Went to a small local airport with a restaurant and outdoor patio. Got to watch the planes and helicopters come and go while we ate. One of the few nice evenings that you could eat outside. Didn't get it, but they have on their menu braunschweiger on dark rye with sliced egg, red onion and spicy mustard. I seriously doubt if anyone else has that on the menu.

Well, another day has passed and I didn't use algebra once.

The same one Daj saw a little bit ago. The Campaign. We found it funny.

Severe T-storms to our north and west heading this way. Maybe a little hail in them.

The storms have passed. We had a lot of lightning and 65mph winds but no damage. I'm hearing a lot of sirens so I'm guessing not everyone is as fortunate.

Horizontal rain for about 15 minutes.
I think the sirens was the FD responding to a lighning strike.

We had a tiny tornado on the other end of Long Island this week. Stayed on the ground, when they never do here. If we get one it is usually a touch down and gone.

But no weather since that day.
It has actually been nice summer weather today. I guessing we have had less than a week of nice summer weather this summer so far. Warm, not sticky and not a billion of mosquitoes.
So, it is nice. There is suppose to be a (ok spell check doesn't like me, so I will have to dumb it down) shooting star shower. Where am I? Watching the closing ceremony.

Hello. We're getting all kinds of noise from the skies and Maisy is not happy about it. Not a lick of rain though.

I slept a really long time today. I'm gonna be up for a while.

I'm thinking the guy from Queen is wondering why they didn't have a beautiful girl, wearing an outfit that makes here look naked, singing his songs all the time.

I didn't like the closing ceremonies as well as the opening. And, honestly, don't understand Rio's part at all.

Heh, probably not. I'll be working some during the day tomorrow for various reasons including we're short handed.

Grrrrrr, the glass part of a light bulb came out but the metal part is still in the socket. I can't get it out. Gonna try again later.

Potato. Stab it with a potato. I guess it should be shut off, since the potato has water in it.

Isn't a potato one of those things you are suppose to always have. Even if you don't eat them?
You can buy one tomorrow.
Or tonight.
You have time before roll over.

I think I've got it torn up enough from needlenose pliers that it may not work. Sigh. I keep going in and attacking it periodically. Then I get exasperated.

I just read to use a steady counterclockwise motion with theneedlenose pliers.

Also, if you don't have a potato, a half a bar of soap. I have no bars of soap in my house.

success with using needle nose pliers to bend the old bulb base in toward the center (sometimes in multiple places) until there's not enough friction to hold the thing in.

That's my thinking. I've got the thing bent in some so there's not as much to touch the wall of the socket. I'm starting to think the stuck part is at the base, not the sides.

Oh, and I don't have a bar of soap either. Someone suggested a wooden broom handle but it was too small.

I've removed bulb bases before but this one is a doozy.
