Not unsettled, I guess. Just not wound down enough to sleep yet.

It would depend on local or state liquor laws. Here, all drinks have to be served by 2am. Not sure what time they can start serving.

Of course, that's in communities that aren't dry. It's city-by-city here.

You bet. Bible belt. It brings undesirables.

It can be dry for all sales, allow wine/beer only, not in restaurants, clubs only, or all restaurants (with license of course).

The club one is the stupidest one because all the restaurants do is make you fill out this form, pay a dollar, and you're now a member of their fictional club.

That's right! Tom Green County (dry) and the city of San Angelo (wet)! Next county south was wet but had a couple small towns that are/were dry.

The city that I lived in before this last move was dry up until 2011. The opponents were pissed because they figured the measure would fail like it always has so they didn't campaign. Then it passed. They're trying to find ways to get it repealed but the laws aren't as helpful for that.

Ugh, have to go to another dinner for work.

Also, what the heck, heavy rain tomorrow. On Rosh Hashanah.
There is no rain on Jewish holy days!
Never!
I need to get Mom day out of the way, not wait for no rain.

Probably. A beloved grocery store led the campaign. It's one of those smalls stores that's been around forever and has transitioned into a gas station, BBQ, deli, quick mart, and now liquor store.

I still drive to Ft Worth for mine because I can get better prices.

We do way more drinking in the dry towns on vacation. You can bring your own wine or beer. Much cheaper.

The neighbors fixing up the old house don't have a dumpster. Somehow they convinced the garbage men to take it.

Until today.

I don't know how they did it up to now. They would have a small dumpster worth of stuff every time.

They would help throw it into the truck, but still.

The garbage truck is only required to pick up four 40 lb cans or bags . Not suppose to take any construction stuff.

Sounds like stressful Mondays are the order of the day.

I'm ready for some R&R or at least some entertainment time.

Microsoft urged Windows users on Monday to install a free piece of security software to protect PCs from a newly discovered bug in the Internet Explorer browser.

Dave Marcus, director of advanced research and threat intelligence with Intel Corp's McAfee security division, said it might be a daunting task for home users to locate, download and install the EMET tool.

Guess that lets me out.

If anyone here has a plain old Kindle, can you tell me where the backspace or delete key is on the keyboard? Not the keyboard Kindle.

Just a sec, I'll grab my daughters...

On hers (which may be too new) it's on the bottom row, it's a arrow box with an X in it just to the left of the return arrow and the done key.

Does that help?

That worked, although it took out the whole word, not just a letter. Thank you.

Good morning everybody! Wind, high temps, high tide, high humidity even a little rain, not a good day for a leisurely jog on the beach. We turned back after about a mile. Saw a guy trying to get his wind surfing kite/parachute thingy flying. Hubby helped him and he took off. It was amazing. At that point there was no one else on the beach. Hope he didn't need help to get folded up when he finished.

Hey all. I'm a zombie. I got just under 2 hours in my bed. I have a sick 5 year old, a hyper 2 year old and am out of coffee.

Anyone else collecting the maps? I just went through to all that have been posted since daughter started puking, I have 6. Just double checking.

I'll go get updates on the two kid's surgeries now for those of your praying, brb.
