Soy milk is good, but this product is a tough sell!

Although there can't be that many of them. I'd guess 50... It said the same user for "first sucker" and "last wooter" and the progress bar was at 98%, so that would mean each person is 2%... yay woot-off before the long weekend (for me at least!)

Some of you seem to actually want this!!!??!?? 40% sold already? Whoda thunk it? Man those marketing gurus at Woot.com must know about our predeliction for legume paste better than we know ourselves....

I never knew these existed...and I'm not surprised that woot is the only place you'll find them.

Umm, soy beans.

Alright, wookies. Listen up. Jesse "The Body" Ventura drinks soy milk. So does Steven Segal. And Jackie Chan, Chuck Yeager, James Taylor, Bella Abzug, Carrot Top, and my chiropractor. All the really cool kids are doing it.

Buy this thing.

Hmm. Okay. Well, believe it or not, I have some legitimate questions.

1. Where can you buy soybeans? Do grocery stores typically sell them? If so, what other use would they have, other than to feed this thing - do recipies call for soybeans?
2. What country was this originally designed for, Japan? Sometimes, foods that seem strange here in the U.S.A. are commonplace overseas. (Then again, try out some foreign person on okra, collard greens, gumbo!)
3. Can I substitute coffee beans for soybeans and get coffee to come out? In other words, what's the brewing temperature for soy milk - same as for coffee, or less than it? What about the granularity of ground soybeans: courser, finer, or about the same as coffee?
4. I assume the grinder requires dry beans?

Just some questions to ponder, tired of looking at the "ewww, gross!" posts, despite sharing the sentiment...

wtf- the only good thing about this is the title for the product info-
"let's here it for the soy" is pretty funny.

WOW!!! I can not believe these things are acutally selling, AND at a decent rate. Already there is only 55% left......boggles my mind......glad I was wrong, I figured this would be a woot killer.

Wait I'm thinking soymilk is Vegan so what if I just put some ground up vegans in this thing will I get vegan milk??????????????????????????????

scooterdeb

quality posts: 0 Private Messages scooterdeb

Oh. Man. Crazy Vegan Woman that I used to work with had one of these. She swore it saved her a forture because she could make soy milk instead of buying it. She also had a worm grid in her kitchen so she could compost indoors, washed her hair sparingly, and had eleven cats that peed everywhere.

Well, thanks to this contraption that apparently seperates money from vegetarians, I'll now have time to do some more things like...

Climb a mountain in the Andes,
Colonoscopy!,
Grandma's 10,000 piece jigsaw puzzle of kittens w/yarn,
Make my wife a diamond,
Grow a tree,
Learn to play an accordion,
And watch myself age.

Awesomest!

I think this product is the one that Woot put up while they take the whole Woot staff out to brunch in appreciation for the hard work thus far. It should hang on while the staff has a leisurely meal.

Also, it looks like it has a piss poor review here:

Don't forget, it make up to only 5 measley cups at a time. Buy 3 right now (before they're gone!!!) so that you can have up to 15 cups of amazing soy milk!! For those of you that haven't tried soy milk, don't diss it. Soy milk is awesome, but not the store bought kind...homemade is the best. Hurry up and make two accounts so you can buy 6!!!
