I like watches, but I don't wear any. This one seems pretty decent.

I have a thing for that 'blacked out' style you see nowadays. This watch looks pretty neat and the best prices I could find in my quick evening scan was around 112 dollars on ebay. If anyone wants to buy it for me I wont stop you

just a question for those of you in the know.
does this have some kind of illumination to it? or do i have to carry a flashlight with me to see it in the dark?

Looks like a sweet watch, gonna use it for work.

In for one.

[Edit: Erm, actually, nearly 2 inches is massive on my wrist... I'll pass, I guess.]

sfstone

quality posts: 3 Private Messages sfstone

FYI: These things are huge at 48 - 52mm. They are designed as over-sized watches and wear a bit like a hockey puck on your wrist.

These watches are available at worldofwatches.com, ewatches.com and a few other associated family of websites. They regularly go on sale for about $70 shipped, so if you like these, this is not a bad deal at $65 shipped

If you like wearing pancake sized discs on your wrist because your ego needs attention, this watch will be perfect for you!

The case is pretty big...I'm no longer a fan of massive wrist clocks. Especially since Randy Jackson overstayed his welcome to this style a few years ago..ugh!

That's just a "WOW price" promo for the black one. The other colors are still $149.99. Regardless, Woot's price is cheaper for all of them.

Don't bother. The so called "Swiss Legend" is a company based in Florida.

Like Invicta, they pretend to sell high quality watches by severely marking up the retail price and selling them at a huge "discount".

In reality, these watches are a hit and miss when it comes to quality, and customer service is usually horrible, if existent.

Pass on this and buy a Citizen or a Seiko.

Or because some people have real man arms and not little boy spaghetti noodles. I require a bigger watch because normal size ones look odd and tiny.

Too bad it doesn't have an hourly chime. It seems to be a lost feature these days.

Hold it! Wait a minute! Stop.

Usually everyone grumbles when something ISN'T made in the USA. Now you're grumbling because it is?

If you warm up in water deeper than 330ft, you may have a problem (and not only with this watch)... :-P

I would also point out that these cheapo brands like Swiss Legend, Haurex, Invicta, BLING, Sturhling, etc. have little to no provenance regarding their claims of Swiss movements or manufacture. I.E. the movement in this watch was almost certainly NOT made in Switzerland.

Invicta is an American company that goes through great lengths to conceal the country from which their products originate. (SPOILER-Its China!!!!)

What makes you think a USA company that puts Swiss in their company that makes watches that's not swiss made would be making it in the USA?

Loving the new top TT I bought a black shirt though so I guess I'll have to support whoever's on team black. Unless woot wants to send me a couple extra shirts for being such a billy badass all damn day long.

It has Neptune stamped on it and Neptune is the Roman god of water & sea, it better be able to withstand water!!

First off, this is a great price for this watch. Swiss Legend does have ridiculous retail prices, just like Invicta, but it still is what it says it is.

I bought one of these in a different color combonation. It has maintained great time, and it looks good, even if it is on the big side.

The cons non this watch

whelmed

quality posts: 0 Private Messages whelmed

I believe 51 percent of the parts of the watch (minimum) must be "of Swiss origin." There is some debate about what that phrase means. Are they of Swiss origin if they were in a train that passed through Switzerland? What if they were made in China, shipped to Switzerland, and finished there? Is that "of Swiss origin"?

There are a LOT of shady things that go on in the watch world, and a lot of them--as this thread suggests--have to do with "Swiss" vs. Swiss and ridiculously inflated retail prices that make sales seem like you are getting the deal of the century.
