I've never heard of the Klipsch company. Anyone know their reputation? To me they sound like a post Soviet Eastern Bloc tech company.

I bought these in a previous Woot for $204.99. I love em!! I picked up a Polk PSW10 from $120 on Amazon and with the Denon AVR 1312 (which I also got from woot) they sound pretty good and its gotta nice thump. Now only if Woot would stop lowering the price, I wouldnt keep getting buyer's remorse. Throw me a coupon or something already!

I sold audio/video equipment professionally for a very long time, and I can't even begin to tell you how many sets of these I recommended to customers. They're fantastic for their size and price, easily out-performing similar speakers...and those really small expensive ones that claim to be the best :P.

Pair them up with a Klipsch downward firing powered subwoofer and a good receiver, I typically recommend Yamaha and they never disappoint.

Fantastic purchase for anyone in confined quarters or trying to get their first component surround system set up. They're easily good enough for your living room, but can transition to the bedroom or a secondary listening area if you ever decide to upgrade. Buy them.

American company, been around for ages. Pretty much in the same range as Polk and Infinity--basically the mid- to higher-end of mass consumer/package store brands.

I was at a friends home July 4th who had bought it at $205. The sound was amazing from oldies to Aero Smith played very loud. I have a good musical ear, for good reasons. I'm going to transfer funds into the ATM in the morning that I use only 4 online shopping. Most Woot Îm nearing 250 buys not counting the multiples ans its incredily rare the couple of times I wasnt happy. Go Google it with the model no. and you'll be convinced. When I only or mostly find many other 'great deal' sites raving about the deal here they speak for themselves too. The way I do it and I haven't been burnt by Woot. Just saying.........

Klipsch has been around since the 1940's. They are a U.S. company. I bought a pair of computer speakers with subwoofer by Klipsch a few years ago at Bestbuy.. I could not be happier with my purchase. I find that the sound is better than Bose and is a lot less expensive. And I have put them to the test.

I had these speakers for a couple days. I bought them on sale a big box retailer you all know for about $380. They were great. The only reason I didn't keep them was that I found someone selling their big brother, the Quintet SL on Craiglist for about the same price. That upgrades the left, center, and right channel to beefier albeit larger speakers but the surrounds are exactly the same. I mainly wanted to improve stereo music with more mid-range and a smoother transition between sub and speakers. For movies there's probably not much difference.

I've had the Quintet SL paired with a Klipsch Sub-10 subwooofer mated to a Sony amp for four years and they are fantastic. For the money, you can't go wrong. I haven't even felt the urge to upgrade, though I have thought about picking up another pair of the satellites to move from a 5.1 to a full 7.1 setup.

For the people who doubt the Klipsch name, shame on you. They have a stellar reputation and are an extremely innovative American company. Just type Klipsch into Wikipedia and your doubts will be quelled rather quickly.

I hv a Denon rcvr rated at 100 watts per channel. R rcvr ratings listed at peak or RMS? In other words, can I use these speakers with my rcvr or will I just blow them out?

I work for an electronics retailer and we sell these speakers and they sound great. I've actually installed these exact models several times. Klipsch makes great products and I can't believe the price of these speakers. I also love on how they mount to the wall. The base actually swivels and becomes the mounting bracket. If I didn't already have a $3000 speaker system I'd be buying these.

You couldn't blow these speakers if you tried. I've connected these exact speakers to a much more powerful receiver with volume maxed out and they handled it beautifully.

Unless it's a home theater in a box those watts should be RMS.

Although Klipsh was a great company, they have been bought out by Audiovox, you can draw your own conclusions. I can't comment on this set, but there have been several new less expensive offerings with the Klipsh brand name on them since Audiovox bought them out. See: http://www.audioholics.com/news/industry-news/audiovox-buys-klipsch-mirage and www.audiovox.com/

In business since 1946 if I recall correctly. Put Hope Arkansas on the map. Always quality. Very interesting history. All of Paul Klipsch's speakers. I used to be fond of digging at the old buzz word of "Digital-Ready" by remarking quality has always been digital-ready. Even in 1946. Back then a purchase of any set of Klipsch speakers was usually approached as a lifetime investment. Heard my first set in 1968 at a friends house whose father was a Doctor. Kornerhorns. Been in love ever since. Bought my first set in 1977. LaScalas. Have purchased at least half dozen sets of the Pro Media Ultra for myself and friends. Doesn't matter how much or how little you spend with them. You will never regret it. There simply is not a better value in speakers dollar for dollar than Klipsch in my opinion.

Klipsch are great quality speakers, I still have a set of KG-2's that I bought in the mid 80's while stationed in Germany. I also own the Quintet 5 piece set that's on sale today. I'm very happy with them. Add a good sub woofer to these and movies really come alive.

The specs listed on amazon, Klipsch Specs, say that the peak power they can handle is 200 watts for the satellites and 300 watts for the center. That being said they are naturally rated below that for normal usage. Just don't max out the speakers all day every day.

I have two sets of Klipsch love the sound they provide. My 2.1 purchase from best buy years ago never had an issue, but the 5.1 purchased off crags list had couple issue with the AMP. It's a non issue that the sub amp will go out in time. Just FYI. After that been leaning more toward Energy 5.1 setup.

Yes they are. You'll have to provide some wires of your own though, if you want them to make sound.

Klipsch is a great sound company. I have their headphones and I've tested their audio products. I'm a semi-audiophile and I don't have a problem with them. Great sound quality and they have tones as well.

They are a well-respected typically high-end audio company, that oddly enough started in Hope Arkansas, just like Bill Clinton :-)

I bought this set off Woot a few weeks ago. I paid a great price then, and today's price is slightly better. Very happy with the purchase. Great performance. The integrated wall mounts saves you some $$$ too if you plan to wall mount them.

Do you need a receiver for this? Would love a great surround sound system but not willing to put in hundreds of dollars. Seems like a great deal on some incredible speakers (unless everyone in the comments is lying) but if I have to put another $100-$200 into getting a receiver I'm going to pass.

Thanks in advance for helping the audio uninitiated.

I've only bought one Klipsch product, and it was probably almost a decade ago. I went into a Best Buy looking for computer speakers and saw their ProMedia 2.1 set on the demo shelf. I was blown away. By the sound and the price: $300 for a 2.1 setup.

So I bought it. It sounded THAT good, and I still have those speakers to this day. It beats out my current home theater setup that I inherited in the marriage. If only it came with a sub, I'd jump on this quintet and upgrade our living room.

Klipsch is a very reputable company, headquartered in Indianapolis, IN. They made their name in the professional audio realm, beginning with the loudspeaker. Within the last few years they've expanded into the consumer market, and kept up with their quality. I own some great earbuds from them!

"Great" And "NOT Willing" do not fit in the same sentence when talking about audio equipment...
I am very picky about what I hears with my ears..
I loved our old Klipsch speakers, but they where not cheap! I do not know if I would purchase these with out hearing them from a good receiver.
p.s. Oh sorry, Yes you need a receiver and wire.
