How did you get 28 quality posts? Have you ever heard of Google?
Klipsch Audio Technologies ( /ˈklɪpʃ/) (also referred to as "Klipsch Speakers" or "Klipsch Group, Inc.") is an American loudspeaker company based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Founded in Hope, Arkansas in 1946 as 'Klipsch and Associates' by Paul W. Klipsch, the company produces loudspeaker drivers and enclosures, as well as complete loudspeakers for high end, high fidelity sound systems, public address applications, and personal computers.

Last I heard Indiana was still part of the United States.

As others have noted, better chance of blowing speakers by under-powering than too much. Clipping the amp will distort and eventually kill drivers.

This is pretty interesting take: http://www.ovnilab.com/articles/clipping.shtml

Are these going to sound better than the speakers that came with my onkyo setup? (TX-SR608, not sure of HTIB model) I kind of like the look of the larger front channels but have been looking to replace the rear and center channels. I'm by no means an audiophile so will I see a significant difference?

I ordered mine this morning and can't wait to get them. My Boyfriend has been telling me about these high quality speakers for a while now, so when i saw them this morning, I pounced on it!! And I LOVE the Klipsch slogan, that I saw on an earlier post: Pissing the neighbors off since 1946.

Yes, the Quintets will absolutely improve on your current speakers. Onkyo make good entry-level receivers with a lot of features, and phenomenal high-end receivers sold under their Integra brand; but their speakers are the kind that just about everyone should upgrade from.

If they are noticeably larger, then your current Onkyo mains (front L/R) are probably capable of lower tones; but I feel that the Quintets will surpass the Onkyo speakers in every other way: less cabinet resonance and, generally, lower distortion, along with more clarity and resolution in the midrange and treble. I've owned Onkyo HTIB speakers and I've listened extensively to a close friend's Quintet system. At this price, the Quintets are a great buy.

Keep in mind that they're going to sound pretty thin without a subwoofer to reinforce the low end. Per Klipsch's published specs, the Quintet satellites' low end rolloff is 120Hz (the center's is 125Hz). This means that none of these speakers can generate tones that most people would recognize as deep bass. It also means that, when paired with a subwoofer, the subwoofer's high end rolloff should be well over 120Hz; if the sub's top end extension rolls off any lower than 120Hz, then there will be a gap where no speaker produces tones.

Klipsch is a very famous sound company....So much so that George Lucas (THX) wanted superior sound for all of his endeavors and has always teamed up with KLIPSCH for trust quality sound. May the force of excellent sound be with you.

I like Denon's AVR 1612 for a terrific entry-level receiver. I own one and will soon buy a second. You can find it for less than $300 if you look around.

I can't recommend any subwoofers under around $650.

Actually let me correct that: the Energy S10.3 comes pretty well recommended, and if you hunt, you can find it for between $200 and $250 pretty often, occasionally even less. I haven't heard it, but I've owned a couple of other Energy subs and I can confirm that they're unusually good for retail brand subs; low distortion, respectable response curves. They're not output kings but at their typically low sale prices, they're good values.

Based on the base design in the pictures (straight lines on the sides, not curved like the IIIs or split like the IIs) and the top-oriented logo on the grills, I can confirm that these are the Quintet IV set advertised on Klipsch.com for $599.99:

Here's hoping that they are just as good as my set of IIIs! In for 2! (and looking for a quality post mention here ... c'mon!)

Holy crap! I ordered these speakers Wednesday afternoon with standard shipping. They came in this morning (Friday). Do you have a warehouse right next door that I don't know about? Fastest. Shipping. Ever.

In our continued efforts to improve shipping, we use a variety of shipping methods such as drop shipping (direct from vendor) and Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA). When using FBA, we instruct our vendor to deliver the product to one or more fulfillment centers from which the product will then be shipped. Please note that we are not part of the Prime or Super Saver Shipping program.

I'm just hanging out, really.

Daw...And here FedEx is saying mine won't be here 'til Tuesday, which, if (When) it doesn't fit in my mailbox, I'll have to go pick it up Wednesday.

For some reason, they always seem to go through Houston, TX to get from Dallas to San Antonio. It's about 200 miles out of the way, to the east.

Here's hoping I can stalk the mailman and get it directly from him on Tuesday. So excited, I've been wanting to move away from my free-from-a-friend-who-was-throwing-it-away Sony speaker set for a good year now. These looked great for the price.

I'm a bit frustrated with these speakers. Were there supposed to be wires included, maybe a plug? All that is in the box is the speakers! Please help!

It comes with what was shown the sale photos. It did not come with speaker wires.

UPS tried to deliver my speakers today but oddly did not leave them and instead left an infonotice. What is strange is when I track them the shipment is not marked as signature required. I haven't had a ground shipment require a signature in oh.... 20 years.

As I understand it, the delivery person can also make a call as to whether they feel it's "safe" to leave a delivery on the doorstep.

I got my speakers on Saturday, Hooked them up last night with a yamaha YAMAHA RX-V373BL 5.1-Channel AV Receiver. Compared them to my current setup (2.1 Maudio AV40's (which i got on woot!) with an maudio SBx10Sub through an maudio fast track ultra sound card)

Used the same sub for the comparison though since it has two inputs. switched back and forth. Speakers sound about on par with the old setup except theres 5 instead of 2, and they (obviously) have a sort of loudspeakerey sounding horn kinda boost to the mids that I like to hear in a HT setup (because it helps with dialogue and sound detail) whilst of course the av40's being monitors have a somewhat more flat response (Before anyone comments yeah I know they aren't really freal's monitor speakers but they work great along with the sub for my music as a hobby purposes and I've loved them).

Anyway, Exactly what I expected and I am very happy with the sound. I will be pairing them with an old samsung HTIB sub for now once I put them in my living room until I come across a deal I cant pass up on craiglist.

Booyeah! Thanks woot.

I would recommend getting 14guage speakerwire off a reputable discounted site like monoprice and if you like banana connectors get those there too because the bare speaker wire is quite hard to clamp with the round wire clamps on the backs of the speakers.

I actually prefer wire spades (the kind you crimp not the ones you solder). So I am going to use spades on the ends for all of the speakers and bare wire on the receiver end (since it has bare wire clips).

Make sure you run a little extra line so you can redo the ends every year or so when the exposed copper wire at the end starts to corrode/tarnish.

As someone mentioned these speakers come with nothing. Just the 5 speakers. Dont expect any cables or wiring!

So... most of you actually got the speakers you ordered? I got a note (a month after ordering, after I wrote to ask) lamenting the terrible lack of supply, and promising to rush mine to me just as soon as possible. Then, the next day -- Klipsch speakers for sale at Tech.Woot! Supply problem evidently resolved!

Except for the small matter of shipping me mine, or responding to my question about this unexpected development.

Anyone else still waiting for their speakers to be shipped?

Hmmm, not sure what's going on there. Could you send an email to service@woot.com so they can look into
it for you?

Thanks!

Hi.. I did not get a hex wrench included with the speakers.. I ordered a set of Amazon.. cannot really find a one that fits the screws on it. Can you recommend any hex wrench that would be a sure fit? Thanks.

bobbyboy wrote:Regarding problems with speakers drooping when they are wall-mounted, I saw this on the Klipsch website:

SPECIAL NOTE: If you wall mount your system, be sure to use the included hex wrench to loosen the screws on the back of the speaker before adjusting the base—failure to do so will strip the screws and cause the speaker to droop. Once you’ve got the desired mounting position, simply re-tighten the screws with the hex wrench.
