It looks like 6 or 7 have sold, and the bar is down to 75% or so.. so there should only be about 24 - 28 of these. I'm guessing 25 or 30.

Moving in 2 percent increments is a very good sign of 50... I would bet on it There should be 33 units left

Anybody have a summary of what has been wooted tonight?

I've read the description several times. I've searched the page looking for the number "78". I even looked in the source code.

Where do you see the percentage left? I see the bar on the front, but there isn't a numerical percentage anywhere, that I can see.

Yeah, 600 bucks moves it from the range of 'Hey, that looks cool *click*' to "Hmm, let's do some price comparison/product research/familial focus groups", at least for me.
As a woot, it doesn't look that bad--good price off retail [Ebay doesn't get equated to a retail store for me, especially on a bigger-ticket item]. As an item, it definitely seems overpriced, and wouldn't get more than a glance from me in passing it on the shelves.

What was wrong with the yellow cars? I got one of the green cars before Christmas, and it's great fun.

Here's more math:

There's 66% remaining.

34% have been sold.

73% bought one.

27% bought three.

That means there were 50 total, 17 units sold and that 3 people bought three units and 8 people bought one unit.

A tip for the other stat trackers out there...

The percentage of sales by hour appears to be by units, not by buyers.

According to my possibly unaccurate calculations, they've sold 11 so far, and guesstimating by the progress bar, the only have 15 total, so GO AHEAD AND BUY 4 OF THE FRIGGING THINGS ALREADY!!!

With time to kill, I've been clicking the ads on Woot!
So far:
Beware of TagWorld ---- It's a phishing site. Says: Sign up for TagWorld and Build Your Social Network! and goes on to request your personal information.

From the Notebook of Lazarus Long:
"Touch is the most fundamental sense. A baby experiences it, all over, before he is born and long before he learns to use sight, hearing, or taste, and no human ever ceases to need it. Keep your children short on pocket money -- but long on hugs."

no, i'm running an encrypted IP tracking program that can trace someone's IP and tell what they are reading based on the side scroll bar's position on the screen. the program copies the text at the eye level position and pastes it into a window on my screen. then, the program will make me a peanut butter and pickle sandwich.

If you look at the stats when the first one or two units are sold, you can usually do some quick math to determine how many units there are total.

Sometimes you have to make inferences regarding the likely behavior of Woot buyers in order to massage the percentages into a reasonable solution.

In this case, the math is pretty easy and makes it clear that there are 50 total units. It is possible that there are 100 units or even 200 units, but that would mean that there were a lot more people buying 3 of these at a time right out of the gate which is highly unlikely for a $600 item.

elpepe

quality posts: 8 Private Messages elpepe

Stuck at 29 units .... come on people, that's only $17,399.71 + $50 shipping... can't someone rich make 10 accounts and pony up the $17,449.71 so we can move on here??

I think its funny... those here that are calling Denon crap especially those that have no idea who they are. They probably think Denon is some Kmart branded Yugo type equipment. Denon is actually as someone else said, like Bose. The only reason most people do not know who they are is due to the fact that Denon is usually only found in high end professional home audio stores.

Warning for you all... it appears that I've had good fortune so far, as I made myself finally go to bed for awhile when the car showed up even tho I thought it would go quickly (I bought it as a regular woot) - and that proved to be just about the biggest woot progress anchor so far. Well, now it's time for me to force myself to go get some lunch and run a few errands like a haircut and some shopping, since we're mired in the 50-something %-s on an item that has likely exhausted most of its potential market due to price (it will just sit here now for random people who left last night and havent' come back yet to see, and only a very small percentage of them will buy too)... so, if you believe in luck, you might want to take a break for a few hours too.

Or, if you believe in karma, this post will have caused all the remaining stock to sell in just a few minutes after I post it and leave the computer. In that case, you're welcome. :-)

Hey, it's worth a try.
