Too bad these don't work for non-wireless devise.Like for a quick transfer execution a usb SD reader to a computer.I'd buy if that was an option.
Or is it?

Step 3: Delete the pics in the camera so you don't get confused as to which you have uploaded or not. And DON'T use the camera's software, use your OS to copy them.

I use Lightroom, and it already knows what pictures have been uploaded, so it just gets the new ones. I like to run my cards nearly full so I don't keep writing on the same spot, theoretically making the cards last longer.

By using Lightroom I can tag the pictures right then, as a group and individually. I can also plug my GPS into the computer and geotag all the pictures automatically.

Wow! You just reminded me of the perfect use for this - for my husband of course. He has hunting cameras out in the woods, it would be great if he didn't have to take them down every time he wanted to get the pics from them.

forever fighting the urge to buy something just because it is cheap and cool...wait, it's cheap and cool, let me click that big yellow button!

werikblack wrote:It will probably work fine with the camera connection kit for the iPad since it adheres to the SD standard. There's an Eye-Fi app for the iPad, but you may want to look to check functionality on it. I think you can actually have the card use the app and transfer directly to your iPad, but I haven't tried that myself. Nice rant, though, Prime Suspect.

I researched the Eye-Fi cards in the past and I am positive that any X2 Eye-Fi card like the ones on sale can transfer to the iOS or Android apps. Also for the iOS variant, iTunes says that the app will work on any iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad as long as it has iOS 4.0 or later.
Also you don't need to be near wifi to transfer to the iOS/Android apps because the Eye-Fi card sends out its own wifi signal that the app picks up.

I love the 8gb Eye-Fi I bought last time it was on woot. Here's how I use it:

1) Take photos at beach, park, etc. with Eye-Fi card in my Canon SX-30.

2) Use Eye-Fi app to transfer photos and videos to my iPhone (VERY fast)

3) Use Web Albums app ($2.99) to upload the photos to Picasa from phone via 4g. You could do similar with other cloud apps like Dropbox. (Video uploads via 3g/4g not so speedy...)

4) Show photos I just took to family/friends ON THEIR OWN PHONE so they can bookmark and find the album later.

5) Bask in geeky glory.

I love that my photos are backed up to my phone and the cloud right away.

This week we had big family reunion. Each night I showed Grandmom the day's photos on the hotel TV via a $45 Woot Roku I brought with me.

*** This card will not connect wirelessly when in older cameras like my Canon SD500 or Fuji XP10. Check that your camera is compatible before buying.

Mine came in today. Just got the 4gb, because I was dumb and didn't read the differences between the 4gb Connect and 8gb Pro.

That said, love this thing so far. Has worked great so far. Played around with it effortlessly transferring pics from the card to my PC, and then even more importantly for me, transferring to my Galaxy SIII. Yes, the S3 has a decent camera built in, but for a lot of things, I prefer to use my regular camera to take better quality pictures.

This card was totally worth the money.

I got the 8gb card and am finding myself totally frustrated right now. I've got a mac air running OS 10.5.8. I installed the correct version of the installer (which I guess is the one below the one that is automatically on the card... not too hard...
only to find that the card is listed as already registered, and that I cannot delete the registration unless I have a newer version of the eye-fi software.
AWESOME. Wait!? There's Homework? MATE!?

Uh oh. Sorry about that. This is warrantied by Eye-Fi so give them a call. I'm hoping they can just talk you through it on the phone. Their support number is 877-873-9334 (7am-5am Pacific). If they can't fix it for you, contact service@woot.com to see what options they have.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

As an update, tech support had me reformat the card in my camera, reboot the computer and try again. After I did that, I got the opening screen that allowed me to create an account. Working great now.

Oh, I did get an error when the card updated its firmware. It said that it failed and to try again, but I'm not able to initialize the process again. Like I said though, it's working well, so I'm not too worried about it at the moment.

Excellent news. Our buyer contacted Eye-Fi as well and we were told that if you experience the registration problem, you should contact Eye-Fi support via email at support@eye.fi or call (877) 873-9334. One of their agents will get you going.

I bought the 4GB + WiFi. Set up was fast and easy. I LOVE this card. Take a photo, it's IMMEDIATELY UPLOADED to your PC or IPad. No need to take the card out and shove it into the port ( if you have one) or fuss with readers. For IPad users, no need to first upload photos to a PC then mail it to yourself.
I'm lucky my Canon A1100IS camera accepts the 4GB card, unfortunately my Canon S2IS isn't able to. Would I buy another one to put into other cameras.... yep, in a heartbeat
